Chateau Mont St Anne Hotel, BEAUPRé

My husband and I stayed here this weekend--and it was terrible! Big problems: Horrible, rock hard beds; rude staff; the world's worst bartender; tiny towels; and less than clean bathroom. Seriously, this was the worst bed I have ever slept on. We barely slept at all, in fact. I suggest bringing an air mattress, or better yet, sleep in your car. It will be more comfortable. The rooms themselves were bland and almost industrial. At least put a cheesy picture of flowers on the wall or something! The bartender did not know how to make anything other than beer or wine. Seriously, you can't make a martini? You have no business being behind a bar. The staff was very rude and unfriendly. They were not interested in heating about our issues. The only good thing that happened was that the iron and ironing board we requested (despite being advertised as in the room) came very quickly.) Otherwise, I would avoid this hotel and stay somewhere closer to the city.

Love the location, went for a conference, plz replace the wicker chairs!~ could never shut the ceiling fan off...no big deal I just couldn't find the switch. Sheets are very nice (all white and lots of pillows)...bed is hard as a rock...(common complaint from others) It was a good place to stay. Verrry slow service in the restaurant, fireplace in bar is very nice. Each room has a kitchenette stove/fridge/sink) ...and balcony (size depends on the room) I had a loft, which was nice. Wireless Internet works great Its OK conference as long as you don't need alot of break-out rooms...which are often at the other end of the complex. Although they did have a covered/heated passage way between the conference centre and chateau.

When we visited Mont Ste Anne in the summer, following whale watching at Tadoussac, our kids wanted to mountain bike down the ski hill. On the way down, our 10-year-old hit a rut with his wheel and crashed forward. His leg was jammed painfully between the wheel and the frame and he feared it was broken. I must thank and compliment the Chateau's staff for getting to him in good time, for transporting him off the mountain and having him examined on site before directing us to the hospital. Being the centre of such care attention turned out to be the high point of the visit for him. James Christie Toronto,ONT
