A tired, outdated hotel in a lively, beautiful city
During a recent trip to Quebec, my husband and two children and I stayed at the Delta Quebec. This hotel was chosen by our travel agent, and having stayed at Delta resorts in the Muskokas, I was expecting a top quality room, or at least a clean room. Upon arrival we were taken up to a rancid smelling room in this non smoking hotel. The room smelled strongly of recently smoked cigar. We requested another room, only to be moved across the hallway to an equally rancid one, this time to enjoy the stench of mold and a sour shower curtain. The actual interior structure of the hotel reminded me of a maze. In order to get to our room we had to take TWO elevators and make our way through endless twists and turns of the hallway. The beds were lumpy and in need of replacement. When we requested a cot, we were told that there would be a $25 PER NIGHT charge. The only redeeming factor for this sorry excuse representing the DELTA chain of hotels was the excellent daily cleaning job done by the chamber maid. The hotel itself was centrally located within walking distance of Vieux Quebec, however I can't say that our stay was enjoyable.
