Eat Breakfast Here

This Grand Hotel was built in the early 1900s. The lobby is one of my favourites. As nice as her sister hotel the Royal York.
The rooms are dated. When I stayed here, they were having a problem with hot water. I wondered if they always had that problem.
Having said that, I would definitely come here for breakfast. They have one of the best buffets ($18?) and they always serve freshly squeezed orange juice or grapefruit juice. Little jars of jam are on each table, and the staff comes around regularly to refill your glass. Try the pancakes with real maple syrup. While you eat, you'll be able to see the Parliament buildings from your seat.
The restaurant was recently renovated at a cost of $3 million dollars. Personally, I liked it better before, but you'll find this one up to date with more colour. It's in the same newer style as the Royal York.
There is a bar on the opposite side of the hotel from the restaurant. Usually empty. I can't understand why. It's a great place to sit and relax, and have drinks or dessert and coffee. The ceilings are very high, in the style of the King Edward Hotel in Toronto.
In summary, personally, I would rather stay at one of the more modern hotels here, but I would definitely come here for the breakfast.
