Good location
By ,
The hotel was chosen because of its location and the reviews I had read. I was not expecting 5 star but they do need to pay more attention to cleaning in the rooms. We arrived 2 hours before check-in which is at 3:00pm and were prepared to register and leave our bags whilst we explored. On check-in we were met with the unfriendliest of reception staff who told us with unrestrained disdain that check-in was not until 3. She continued with her most unwelcoming manner throughout the whole check-in process. I have to say that all other staff were quite helpful and friendly it was just Miss Blonde-With-Attitude.

Good Value for the Money
By ,
Housekeeping service was great - the front desk helpful. The restaurant was lovely, the waitress fine, and the food was good. Portions were smaller than the average US person is used to. Need to get there early if you want to have a space in the hotel parking area - not enough spaces if the hotel is full. They will reimburse you if you have to park in the lot across the street. Only real complaint was the laundry facility - small and dirty with only one washeer and one dryer. Frustration for our family was the pool was closed for cleaning and repairs with no prior notice before we arrived.

Great Hotel - Great Value
By ,
Loved the Hotel, Warm welcoming staff, great English style pub, it;s great location, close to entertaiment, shopping and easy walking to all the attractions. We stayed in one of their suites, Great Value for being downtown. Will be back.

Bright and noisy, hot and smelly
By ,
We had a room on a corner. The windows did not seal (one had a broken latch), so we got street noise from two directions all night. Blanshard is one of the main drags in Victoria, so there is a lot of traffic. The curtains did not cover the windows, so we had light from streetlamps, too. Although the room was clean, there was a funky smell in the bathroom and around the bed, perhaps because the building is older. We had planned to stay three nights, but checked out after the first night. Lastly, there is no air conditioning and it was in the 80s during the day when we were in Victoria. AAA gave this Inn three stars, but I think it should be a two.

Won't stay here again
By ,
Do not believe the web site of this place. According to the Choice hotels web site, there is free continental breakfast. There is none. I got into a heated discussion about this and they didn't even lower the price of the room, which is one reason we picked this place so we wouldn't have to pay high prices of breakfast of donuts and coffee. Instead they have a small eating area call the Green Room that charges $7.00 for some eggs. The air conditioning consists of 2 open windows and a small oscillating fan. The room is exceedingly hot all the time and does not cool down even though it is 55 deg F outside. Their movies are picked by the manager and is a DVD player that is on repeat. The view of the water is non existant and it is about 3/4 mile from the inner harbour. They do have refridgerators but without any grocery stores nearby there is no need to even have one. Internet connection is almost non existant as it is very slow.

Great location
By ,
We found the Quality Inn Downtown to be very comfortable and convenient to most of the Inner Harbour attractions and restaurants. Only about a 5-10 minute walk to the Inner Harbour and the Royal BC Museum. There is in-house parking underground but not enough stalls--there is parking underneath the public library across the street and the hotel reimburses you for the cost, so we didn't find it a bother. The continental breakfast was very nice but wish they had more fresh fruit and the pastries & bagels were very good. The rooms were very nice and clean--we had the larger room because we had 2 teenagers with us and found it very comfortable. Some of the rooms overlook a very cute courtyard--look nice but a bit cool on the days we were there. They do have large heaters out there but never saw anyone down there. We would definitely stay there again.

I can't wait to go back again!
By ,
I loved the green room. It had a delicious white chocolate mousse. I loved the pool and sauna, and it also had an exercise room. It overlooked the city and was blocks from great shopping places and very good restaurants (one of which was right belw the green room).

Nice Location
By ,
The room was nice and comfortable. They do have a pool, but was under construction. Underground parking, but not enough spots and we had to park in another garage were we had to pay to park. Great location, within walking distance to tourist spots and waterfront. I would stay there again.
