In the end, I guess it's what you are looking for. This hotel is older, yes. However, it's VERY well maintained, and updated. The staff are incredible and the rooms are very clean. You do not need to go down the hall, to the elevator, through the lobby, before you get outside. No. You book a lakefront room, open your door and you're there. Sitting in your room, or on the open veranda, you have incredible views of the pool, the lake, mountains, and all the activity on the lake. What more can you ask for? There is no room service as such, but it's available from the sister hotel should you really desire it. You have a small kitchenette, TV, and lots of room for a playpen or anything else you need. Internet access and window a/c are perfect. The only thing I would request to improve slightly for families, is a chain lock on the door. Our 2 y/o daughter can easily open the door, and even when locked, it unlocks when you push the handle. We chose to put a chair in front of the door at night just as a bit of deterrant for our daughter. Bottom line, the hotel is exactly as represented, so no fear of 'too good to be true' scenario. We have been telling everyone and we wish we had been coming here for years annually, like many others here do. We will be back for certain. We can't wait.
