Ramada Edmonton South, Edmonton

I had come to the city because I had my daughter and she was taken to the stollery for a week and a half, when we booked the room the day before we left we thought it was cheap and looked nice to relax at, I was wrong, there was a shooting right outside the building and there was noise most of the nite, not to mention there was a cold draft from the windows, it was in jan!!! Any way having a new baby and trying to rest and feel safe, this is sooo not the place

We stayed at the hotel for our anniversary, we brought our kids and thought we would have a great time with the waterslide attraction. However, when we were preparing to go to bed the hallways were very loud and the floors were shaking with the sound of yelling, running children...lots of unsupervised yelling, running children. We thought, that it was because the waterslide was closing and these kids were heading back to their rooms...wrong. The noise went on for over an hour. We called downstairs to the front desk and were told they would take care of it. They didn't. We could not get to sleep until about 2 a.m. Our calls to the front desk did nothing and we were told that there was a group of young hockey players in the hotel from our of town...so what. I paid my money and deserved some sleep. In the morning, no apology and they seemed not to care when we informed them we would not be back. Since then I have told anyone who will listen not to waste their money there. Do not stay in the Ramada Inn and Waterpark!!

I booked this room because the address was close to drive to the edmonton airport. The name RAMADA was a plus. I called minutes before leaving the house to check if they had cribs and was told no. I drove from Fort McMurray to Edmonton on that horridly busy highway. We checked in at about 8:10 p.m. There were 2 adults, and a 16 month old infant. I went out to see a relative until 10:30.When I returned my daughter-in-law told me that the noise from the young girls screaming and running up and down the hallways was keeping her and the baby awake. I got ready for bed and the whole floor seemed to have young people hooting and hollering.About midnite I could`t take it anymore and went to the front desk to complain. The clerk was on a personal call and the security was hanging out in the lobby.I was assured that things would be taken care of.On my ride back up to the 2nd floor a couple from the 5th floor told me they had the same problem. We both said that we stayed there thinking it was a class hotel and would not come back again. At 3a.m. the noise from the loud t.v.`s and the banging doors and runnung kids finally quieted down enough to go to sleep.then we had to get up at 5:30 to get ready to leave for the airport. i returned to check out at 7;30 a.m. and was told to return at 10 a.m. to speak to the manager. What a treat that was. He would not make eye contact. He said that security checked out my complaint but found nothing.However the manager was not there at night.He then accused me of making too much noise wheeling the luggage cart to the elevator.I told him that with only 2 1/2 hours sleep I was not able to close the playpen that I had to bring as one was not available to us. Had I been rested I probably would have felt stronger. But as I have fibermyolgia, I need my rest. I had to put the partially closed playpen on the cart with my other stuff and wheel it to the elevator which was a 2 minute walk from my room. The play pen legs caght the walls on either side of the hall and made noise. The lady who opened the door to complain to me obviously was not around when the yahoos were tearing up the halls all night. Or maybe she was one of them. I rented a room to sleep in. I did not get what I paid for. I asked the manager not to charge me. But he did not even offer an apology for the noise. He said that they allowed noise until 11:30.Then he complained about my 2 minute walk to the elevator.This is so wrong. I did not get what I paid for. Therefore I shoud be reimbursed. I had to drive back to Fort McMurray following check-out with only 2 1/2 hours sleep.
