We did not get our fantasy at all.

We had purchased tickets for Celine Dion a year in advance and planned on staying at the Fantasyland Hotel. Ended up booking rooms for two nights a couple of months in advance. We advised the reservation clerk we would be arriving late in the evening and were assured the room reservation was guaranteed.
Upon arriving at the hotel 11:30 PM we were pretty much left in the dark for 20 minutes as to the status of our room. We were then advised they had given away our room(Roman) and asked if the only room left being a truck room was acceptable. Upon saying no they did offer ir for free, so went up to it, but was not suitable for my wife and myself to sleep in the back of a truck on a small double size mattress.
Back to the front desk, again very poor service. Told them they could buy us a room somewhere else and they did accomodate.
We never did receive an explanation as to why our guaranteed reservation, was not honoured.
We did cancel for the second night. As we were leaving there were 6 ladies also from Calgary, experiencing the same situation. All 6 of them were also offered the truck room.
When we checked out of the hotel paid for by Fantasyland, we were advised there was another couple there as well. That makes at least 10 people with reservations that showed up and did not get a room.
In visiting another hotel close to the Mall, they said Fantasy does over book all of the time up to 30 %. So must be a matter of first come.
A week later I called back to the reservation line and was advised that yes, if you do not show up you are charged for your room. In our case it was $ 350.00 a night.
Called again to speak with the Front End Manager, whom of course never answers the phone and never did call back.
What is wrong with a guaranteed reservation being charged to your credit card at time of reservation, and then if you dont show or cancel within allowed time frame, you likley have already received your invoice form CC company.
If anyone reads this, that were charged for not showing up, recommend you try and get a refund. I know that the hotel is always 100 % full from conversation with others.
It is quite the scam they have going on, so of course they have no problem paying for your room at other hotels, when they are caught in that situation.
Back to the Truck Room, lilkey an adventure if you and your little brother are staying in there. Very narrow room, maybe 4 feet between the bed and the wall. Flashing traffic lights, could not see how to turn them off.
There is a bathroom, then a hot tub, then a truck and the room is full.
We were much more comfortable at the alternative provided that night, but then it is 1 PM and more driving around the city to get there.
There was one young lady at the front desk, whom was nice and seemed as confused as we were as to what the Heck was going on. She was new.
She should find a new job. She does not belong there.
All of the others behind the desk, belong there. It is likely the best job they will ever get.
They had the experience of telling you there is nothing we can do for you.
In the lobby of the hotel there is a bar, playing loud music. Skateboarders, coming and going. Quite a reception.
Was reading it has been open since 1986. Took me twenty two years to get there. Will obviously never go again.
