I am a frequent traveler and this is one of the most poorly managed motels in which I have ever stayed.I was there in August of this year. The staff had an unfriendlt attitude and acted as though they resented accomodating customer needs. Some Examples:
When I checked in I told the front desk staff that I was concerned that the temperature was forecast to be almost freezeing that night and I would like an extra blanket.I was told that they would prefer that I wait until it actually got cold that night-- as they liked to keep blankets on hand at the desk!I was only given a blanket after incisting. The evening manager remarked" Well you do have a credit card on file." An insulting comment, suggesting they were mostly concerned about possible theft.
I also called the front desk in the late evening to complain about a strong chemical smell in my room .I had tried to air the room out to no avail for several hours.I was told I would have to wait until morning to get another room.
At sunrise I went to the front desk and complained that I had been unable to sleep all night due to this bad smell.I was told that they would, finally, move me to a comparable room.I went to the new room , only to discover that it was in a basement and had no view. When I complained that this was in way equal to the nice view of a hillside I had from the room I was in, I was told that this was the best they could do(I was told by maids that there were several nicer rooms available). I told them of my great displeasure with their poor service, including the fact that the key did not work to the door of one of the two basement apartments I was offered.Their response was to suggest that I should stay elsewhere if I did not like what they had to offer.I packed up and left .After frantically calling around I ended up staying at the Jenny Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park. This was a more scenic and customer friendly spot by far and at about the same price.
