Horseshoe Bend Motel, Lovell

This little motel is a lifesaver. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. If you have a problem, they are on top of it instantly. The rooms are furnished at level of a full fledged kitchenette-apartment. That is, they have a microwave and a fridge, plus wireless. The place is are old but extremely well maintained. I have paid twice as much as I did here for a place so noisy that I could not sleep. Here, in august, there are bikers who roar around a while, and then go to bed about 9:30 PM. The town rolls up the streets for the night about the same time, and the motel becomes very quiet for a place that is situated on the "main drag". IT IS NOT A MAIN TRUCK ROUTE. The locals do NOWT drag main all night exhibiting their loud tailpipes. I paid $84 for two beds in a very clean, well furnished room. The big name places I usually stay were charging $150+. If you are in this area, stay here!

Couldnt be more pleased! Nice room, clean, computer friendly, wonderful folks managing it! Nice fruit and home made muffins, coffee and tea available in the morning. Looking forward to returning soon! Nicest place in Lovell by far. Near the Mustang Center.

Great little motel at the base of Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range on the WY/MT border and near the Big Horn Canyon National Park. Nothing fancy, but neat, clean, and great friendly owners who know the area well and how to get to see the wild horses. Reasonable rates and not far from Billings, & Red Lodge MT, and Cody WY.

Well I liked that it had a Bed. I went in December during a normal cold front for that time of year with snow and ice. The heater was a combo AC/Heater unit in the wall about 1 inch too small for the hole in the wall it was placed in where the wind entered and ripped through the room and out the space around the door that you can see through from the bed. In attempts to turn on the heater, it shorted electricity so I could not use the heater and improvised with two blankets that I kept in my car for emergencies and added them to the bed along with sleeping in my clothes. Water in the toilet bowl and tank was a solid block of ice, the sink was a block of ice with a small hole where the water was allowed to run to prevent the pipes from bursting, I brought some sodas in from the car so they would not freeze and burst, left them on the table where they froze anyway deforming the can and laying them on their sides because the ends popped out. I reported the issue to the staff and they did tell me they would have switched me rooms but I was checking out. Worst night of sleep ever in my life, and I was in Afghanistan over an entire winter in a hammock for a month and was greatful for a piece of sheet wood that looked like a massage chair to my back for the rest of my deployment in a tin roofed cement building with only a drip stove for a 2000 square foot area. This was an experience to say the least. I have laughed about it several times as I showed the pictures on my phone to everyone of the toilet, sink and my frozen sodas. I am sure warmer months would have been better, but avoid in the winter especially if you have children or family.

The continental breakfast was only coffee and apples. Although there was equipment in the room, they had discontinued coffee carafes in the room because it was 'too much of a mess.' The sink's plumbing was needing attention. However, it was reasonably priced, clean, and quiet.

Very friendly owners who held a room for me just via a cell phone call. Everything was booked in surrounding towns and these great folks saved the night for us. Clean comfortable room, friendly service and a real value! If you are passing through to Yellowstone, this is a great place to spend a night. We were actually returning east from Yellowstone and had planned on camping that night in the Bighorn Mts east of Lovell. We ran wayyyy late that day and knew we wouldn't make the mountains before dark. It was also Sturgis week and the bikers had everything booked in Cody and Powell. I found the Horseshoe Bend Motel via the Internet and simply called and they willingly held a room just by me giving my name, no credit card requested! By the time we checked in and got into our room, they had the entire motel rented out. They could easily have charged more that night but kept to their standard rates. The room was more than clean and comfortable. I frequently stay in the "Name Brand" hotles and this was no different than what I would expect from a Marriott or Hilton room. Plan on a stop here if you are traveling down 14A.

I stayed at the Horseshoe Bend Motel while visiting family in the Lovell area during March of 2008. For the Lovell area, the Horseshoe Bend Motel is pretty nice. The rooms were clean and the location is convenient with a restaurant just across the parking lot. The service was very good as the owners live right on site. We'll stay here again the next time we're in town.

The location was perfect and the staff went out of their way to assist us with information on ski packages, tours and shopping. The service was great! The complimentary breakfast was a real treat and a money saver. We met other guests from all over the United States and enjoyed visiting with them.
