For an older hotel have made many updates to this place. It has come a long way since 2007. Very family style atmosphere. The staff makes you feel at home. There is a restaurant and lounge on site which is very convenient. Would recommend this place for a home away from home.

I HATED NOTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE! I LOVED IT!! I was traveling to Racine to visit some old friends that recently moved to the area. It just happens to have been on July 18 which was one of the busiest days because of a triathlon anyway I jumped online when I found out this place was the only one with rooms. AND I WAS HORRIFIED to read all the nasty reviews! but i had no choice with no other place to stay but to book a room.. This is an older property but when i walked in the lobby it was very nice and clean and seemed to have been remodeled in the past few months. The front desk clerk was so nice and ready to help us with whatever we needed (directions and a good place to eat)! We get to our room and open the door ( I WAS EXPECTING THE DEVIL TO BE IN THERE OR SOMETHING :) ) and it was very nice , the room was very large and everything was very very clean! I travel with my own blankets and pillows and I didn't even need them the beds were new and linens were so clean. Everything was basically new. Then I look out the window and you can see a nice little view of the river from the back yard. :) In the morning they also have a great breakfast with lots of choices!! anyway I just felt I had to leave a good review because of all the awful nasty things people said that were really exaggerated!!! SO I WOULD RECCOMMEND STAYING HERE!!!!! THIS PLACE IS GREAT!!!!! THEY MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE FAMILY!!!!

THIS WAS THE MOST DIRTY PLACE WE STAYED WE WERE ON THE POWER TOUR AND MADE THESE 3 MONTHS AHEAD BOY WHAT FILTH THE GIRL AT THE DESK ONLY SAID SORRY WHERE ARE THE INSPECTIONS?

For a budget motel that is struggling to keep up its standards, you can't beat the location. On the banks of the Root River. Get a room on the first floor, riverside; you can walk out your door to a grassy area, sit on a bench under trees, and watch folks fishing across the river. Dogs seem to be welcome, and there's an outdoor pool. Never been in the bar, but it's there; forget the restaurant: try Infusino's Italian restaurant about a half mile north on Rapids Drive. NOT luxury accomodations; but at budget prices it's a nice little surprise.
