A very shady place!
By N., 1/10/12
Very shady place! I cannot recommend this hotel at all. My room door did not lock properly, the bathroom was absolutely disgusting and dirty upon my arrival, the elevator got stuck several times during my stay (and of course had no inspection sticker whatsoever) and when I asked them to call me a taxi cab to the airport, a car arrived that was not labeled as a taxi, had no meter in it, the driver had no id, taxi license, or permit but still tried to charge me $5 more for a trip to the airport than the local yellow cabs. I booked the room to avoid the high costs of the conference hotels nearby, but I will never make this mistake again. Even their cheap rates were overpriced for the rooms and service they offer.

A Real Bargain in a city of overpriced hotel rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/6/09
The rooms were clean, roomy, and well maintained. Front desk crew was very helpful and the location was excellent. If you want an excellent location with a friendly staff and nice rooms this is the place for you. It isn't fancy and looks dated from the outside, but inside it is comfortable and welcoming. It is a true bargain in a city that has a lot of overpriced rooms, Prior to our visit the hotel staff arranged a pickup for us at the airport and then called us back in Texas to confirm this and give us a number to call when we arrived. When we were ready to leave for the cruise terminal the desk again arranged a car to pick us up. At no time did any of the people on the front desk seem to mind doing anything that would make our trip more pleasant. When I again come to Seattle I'll stay at the Sixth Avenue Inn.

A friend stayed here and the place was just great. The room was fine, the location was terrific and the staff treated her like family.

VISIT THIS PLACE IF YOUR DESPERATE
By bill, 6/30/08
I booked this through Sheraton and was directed here when the Sheraton Seattle Hotel was full. Ladies and Gentlemen, please understand that I travel 60000 miles annually and have been in over 400 hotels. This ranks as the rankest ever. The arrogant little twerp at the front desk gave me a smoking room when I researved a non-smoking room. I asked him if non-smoking was available, he said yes, but I didnt researve one so tough luck to me. At that time, I decided to eliminate my 3 day researvation to one day, and look for another room for my final two days and this plant-life informed me that I must advise him by 11pm that evening to cxl the final two days. (I arrived at 8pm that night). The room was filthy, the shower over the tub, filled the tub because the drain was plugged and the shower leaked. I booked at the Warwick Hotel down the street at midnight. Great location, but this is a Sheraton???? I'd rather be tied to a railing, stabbed in my eyes 100 times before ever visiting that place again. What they need is a visit by both the hotel etiquette fairy and the local heath depertment.

We wouldn't go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/2/08
The check in experience was horrific. We had reservations and it didn't seem to help. The check in clerk was saying something about housekeeping showing rooms still dirty. He tried to put us in a smoking room without even asking us. This happened at 9:30 PM on a Saturday. The rooms are pretty shabby and could stand to be refurbished. It certainly wouldn't earn a 3 star rating in my book. I am suprised it is a Sheraton. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

anywhere but there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/25/07
we had a room on reservation....and got in early so had to store our luggage, after the seahawks game went back to check in , and they said our credit card was invalid, which it wasnt. we ended up getting our bags and going to the best western down the street, where our credit card worked...?? and they were great. i will never go back to the sixth ave inn...i must say i was happy because we saved $40 staying somewhere cleaner and nicer 2 blocks away

Not bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/20/07
fairly clean and cheap hotel. can walk easily to convention center, other hotels, and pikes market. for internet connection, you'll have to pay 10 more dollars. the wireless connection was stable and fast enough for me.

A "retro" experience .. not to be missed ..
By Jan, 6/17/07
Just returned from a 7 nite stay at this delightful hotel. Having read some "not so positive" reviews prior to my stay ... I was a bit worried. I must say however ... that they very things others felt to be "negatives" were in fact "positives". This hotel was built for the World's Fair of 1962 ... yes the window glass was thinner then ... and yes .. you can hear the street noise at nite ... BUT ... the retro aspects of this hotel far outweigh the "ultra-modern" amenities of much pricier hotels. In summation ... the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful ... the rooms were spacious and very well maintained ... this hotel is in the "middle of everything" ... parking is safe and inexpensive. I would stay here again ... in a heartbeat ...

location,location,location

I have traveled most of my life. If I could I would live in a hotel, I love hotels. The Sixth Ave. Inn is a hidden oasis. If you trip twice , you can stand up in six different fashionable clubs with delicious music. There may not a pool, but this hotel was built before that fad. It is clean ,comfortable, quiet with a good restaurant. It is in the middle of everything . The best shopping and the Space Needle are short walks. It is not glitsy , but the place has a forty's style with class. In the evening with the well dressed couples on the street, the charm of the place give one an illusion that you may see Sam Spade or Miss Dietrich waiting for for a cab under portico. I hope too many people do not find out what deal it is.

Will never ever return
By Me Garcia, 1/30/07
I guess you really do get what you pay for. I was VERY disappointed with this hotel. For starters the elevators smell of urine. The room was small, smelly and worn out. The electrical outlets did not work and the bed was hard to the point, I could feel springs in my back. The bathroom was decent. At night I had the pleasure of hearing "thump-thump" base as the club across the street plays loud rap music into the wee hours of the morning. There were gun shots audible and then the sound of sirens as police and ambulances arrived. So, you can imagine that we didn't get any sleep and were out of there faster than fast. We dined in the restaurant and were very pleased. But not pleased enough to return to stay here again.
