flying pancakes
By Jim, 02/07/10
I loved the review "won't be back" especially the part about using the pancakes for a frisbee. I have stayed there 3 times and enjoyed it each time. The last time I left a day early and they refunded or didn't charge me for that. I thought that was cool. The last few times I have stayed at Breakers in Long Beach the first two times I had an enjoyable time and the the units were great. The last time I got stuck in a ghetto at the Breakers (cabinets from the 70's and a toilet that rocked) - I'll never go there again and they don't care. This month I'll stay at Canterbury again in Ocean Shores. Have fun Don I

WON'T BE BACK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/11/09
Richard was very nice and helpful, staff was friendly. rooms clean but a little tight. ocean view but far view, you can tell it's an older hotel but with a fresh new look. pool area clean and nice. if you want to play frisbee on the beach save your money buying one use your pancake from breakfast they were so hard they were curling on the edges, hashbrowns tasted freezer burnt, i've seen better looking eggs in my granddaughters plastic kitchen set, thank goodness they had cold cereal or we might have starved.wont recommend, wont be back for over 100.00 to expensive.

Better Than Expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/23/09
After reading various reviews on the internet we had rather low expectations going in. Service and Comfort really surprised us! Staff was attentive, rooms were clean. we had a great view and really enjoyed the free breakfast, which included Bacon, eggs and Biscuits and Gravy.

Don't call in!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/12/09
I phoned to make reservations and got "Linda', not only was she unhelpful but unfriendly and RUDE! When I phoned back to ask questions about changing rooms (our party had two adults and 3 children), I was told VERY ABRUPTLY, "THERE CAN ONLY BE 4 "BODIES"!!! FOR A SMALLER ROOM". At one point I had to inform her not to speak to me in that tone. After giving it some thought I decided to cancel my reservation. I then spoke with Jessica who was friendly and gave Great Customer service, I wish I would have spoke to her first. LINDA could take a lesson form her. Linda gave the impression that she did not like her job! M Harvey

Not what we were hoping for
By Tina, 06/04/08
This is not the place we were hoping for. The front desk staff is rude and do not like it when you ask questions. The staff is NOT kid friendly! The rooms smell musty hard to get house keeping. The breakfast of sweet rolls, cereal and bagels is in a nice big room which is a plus.

More than we hoped for
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/12/07
We stayed here for our 23rd wedding anniversary. Everything was very nice and EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN...the rooms, breakfast area, pool/spa, and even the 1st floor relaxing area with 2 fire places and plenty of comfy furniture and reading material...everything was very well maintained...we were a little surprised that the mattresses were the older spring beds...considering how clean and kept up the place was, but they were still comfortable...the kids very much enjoyed the pool/spa and we have already booked a return trip! The staff were very attentive and friendly and the continental breakfast was fresh and nicely arranged. The kitchen-ettes were well stocked with what you needed to prepare simple meals...All in all, we were very happy with our stay there.

Ruined Weekend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/18/06
We had complaints all weekend - wrong rates which were corrected...wrong type of room which was not corrected...promised changes never happened...no maid service on Saturday which they never offered to correct...desk staff rude to members of the party...desk staff changed stories when confronted...not one problem was attempted to be corrected. We rented three rooms for a funeral. We will never return. My family is still upset at the treatment. We did complain in writing. The response from management was that we were the cause of all of the problems. We were willing to provide witnesses for many of the incidents, but management was not interested on resolving anything.

I Heart Chateau Westport!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/19/06
My boyfriend and I stayed at Chateau Westport last April and LOVED it! The rates were cheap. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful....and the few people staying there(April is still the slow season there) always had a smile and a hello even just passing in the hall to our room. If you are looking for a lot of night life, this may not be the place for you. But, if you are looking for great people and the feeling of peace and relaxation Westport is ideal! The best part is Chateau Westport is walking distance to the beach and in the slower months you will feel like you own the coast! It's a great romantic getaway and it's worth the trip!!!

Best place to stay at the Ocean
By Cindy, 05/24/05
Go to this place every year. Low price, nice continential breakfast. They have fireplaces, and great ocean views. Highly recommend staying there if you are on a budget.
