Americas Best Value Inn, Portsmouth

My family and I stayed at this hotel for one night. We were informed you were not aloud to have visitors after 9pm, or their car will be towed. Then we were informed that if we need extra towels, soap, toilet paper, blankets, etc. we would be charged accordingly. If we wanted phone its 10.00. And if we wanted to eat breakfest in the morning it was a 10.00 charge. Needless to say we were informed after getting the room! We went to this room and automaticly saw mice crap all over the bathroom and kitchen floors. The blankets had stains and the sheets were disgusting. and not washed. we were going to use our own sheets anyways but the fact is they werent clean! They were no towels or soap. And there was spider webs in the corners of ceiling and roachs crawling up the walls of the kitchen. We went to the office and were told there was no refund after 10 minutes and the owners were not going to do anything to make this trip satisfying. They had so much lack of care it wasnt funny. Irritated enough we go back to the room. Not even 10 min back to the room we here plain as day moaning and all sorts of nasty noises when you have two young children. It was soo loud it sounded like they were in the next room. We decided to pack up and leave and loose out on the 80.00 bucks we spent at this hotel. I would NOT come visit this hotel. It is nasty and disgusting.

I came here in the past about 3 years ago it was not good but i just wanted to give another try and i went over there and the experience was good and i realized that the ownership changed and things became good and overall i say it is good to stay but we must not compromise on money ..it says like if u spend more u get a good room ..but the service is good.

My wife just got back from a 7 month deployment, thought it would be a nice reunion for us....badly mistaken...the room was a disaster....paint chippiing, front door had been kicked in (at least once), no coffee or caraffe for the coffee maker, no remote for the TV, bathroom was filthy....asked for a different room..."they were all reserved" no refunds after 10 minutes.....the charge was disputed with my CC company, and the Navy was notified as well, pictures were provided to them as well.....Contacting corperate went no where....got the run around from them......offered a 5.00 credit on my next stay......that won't EVER happen...... Stay away from this pig pen.....

My husband is in navy and we were down there for two nights at this hotel once's his work was done we extended our stay for 3 more nights . we felt safe b'cause there was patrolling avaliable. I liked how every time when i come the staff knows me by my name which makes me feel special. I also like how much they think about customers safety issues like registered customer, guest must check in at the front desk. The rooms were clean and nice. I have seen alot of change in the management as well as in the rooms. Shower was great and the towels and the quality of the bed and pillows were very nice. The maid service was excellent ...............infact everything was excellent.....whenever i go to virginia i stay at this hotel in portsmouth. price is worth it......

This is a great hotel to stay at especially if you have to go to the Naval Hospital as I did on my trip. The location is so convenient and the hotel itself is very quiet. The two ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful and very friendly. I even extended my stay because of the hospitality and the quality of the room I stayed in. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a home away from home!

This place is really horrible my dog sleeps in better place.Damn ugly motel. The Indian girl in the front desk is seducing all the customers rather concentrating on Business.Stay away of this place

Run away from this place. The room was so bad I would not even put a homeless person in it. The rug was very worn, torn up and it looked like it had not been vacuumed in weeks, There were foot prints, filth and mold on the door and walls. There were ROACHES out during the day light. The bed and sheets had not been changed in who knows how long. The sheets were very stained with who knows what! We were in the room one hour and I hope I did not catch anything. I repete RUN away from this place!

The service was horrible! We stayed there for 5 nights and no one cared to come to our room to change the sheets nor to check on the toilet paper, which we needed.We had to go and buy it ourselves.

My husband & I went here for just one night after traveling from TN to see our new grandson. This is the worst motel I have ever seen! It was late when we checked in & we were both very tried. There were men standing all over outside this motel (which does not look like the picture) When we went in the room was disgusting. The bathroom was so nasty I refused to take a shower or use the toilet. If the room was not all ready paid for we would have left. The carpet was sticky, I put my socks back on & did not take them off until we left. We had 3 men try to get into our room that night. They just wanted to talk to us!!!! My husband told them to leave. We had so many wrong number phone calls I left the phone off the hook all night. Then when we got up at 5:30 am to run for our lifes. At 5:45 am a homeless man came to our door, He wanted in to use the room until check out time. Thank God we got out of there alive! I would not take a dog here and would suggest that you keep looking!!

My husband and I checked in late at night and was directed by the staff that we were across the courtyard. Mind you, I am not prejudice, but there were black guys lining the sidewalk in front of the room where we stayed. They knocked on our door throughout the night, and called us relentlessly until I took the phone off the hook. The room and bathroom were filthy, so much that I did not shower. The sheets appeared cleaned but burned with cigarette holes. A frightening and disgusting experience for $86 for the night.
