We had a wonderful time
By B, 01/18/09
We stayed four nights. The room was spotless. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The indoor pool and spa and the fitness room were all very nice. Housekeeping was prompt and well done. We really had a wonderful time and couldn't have asked for anything any better. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Works well with large groups
By D, 10/31/08
I've stayed their a few times for private functions, they give a pretty decent group discount. Had a few problems with the staff interfering with our group & making us feel uncomfortable but after a brief talk with management it was ok. Never book the hotel bar for your events they charge $8 for a warm beer. The elevators were recently painted & made a few of us sick riding up to the top floor. The no smoking policy is harsh when youre on the top floor & need a cigarette ever 30min. The front desk service was great though I had lost my toothbrush while travelling & they gave me a new one plus a travel tube of toothpaste free of charge. The rooms are beautiful. The bed are extreamly comfortable. The second I hit the bed I didnt want to have to get back up again. The A/C though is old, loud & had trouble getting to the desired temp. & the hallways were overly warm. The bathroom in the handicap room was more than spacious but getting through the small hallway to the bed could be a little tricky & the desk right in front of the bed poses problems. The rooms all come with a sleep mask & ear plugs which come in handy with all hotels having somewhat thin walls. The linen mist however wasnt so pleasent I'm glad I tried it in the bathroom before using it on the bed. I would recommend this hotel to other large groups. For the price its hard to beat the service they offer. My group will use this hotel as long as they will have us.

Nice Comfy Beds!
By Mari C, 05/02/08
The place was very nice. The beds were extremely comfortable. The location is good because it's not far from things. Esp if you aren't too familiar with Richmond. I enjoyed it. I'd like to go back soon.

Good Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/23/08
Crown Plaza Richmond West is an older hotel that has been renovated to Crown Plaza's standard. The extra touches with ear plugs, a sleep CD, and spray are inviting. The room was clean and the property well-maintained. The elevator used was slow, but accomplished the purpose intended. We would be very likely to stay again.

Toilets don't work!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/07
I travel all the time for work. I used to live in Richmond so I knew about the Holiday Inn that was at this location prior to the name change. I happened to have to stay at the Holiday Inn once as everything else around there was booked. I stayed in the tower end and the elevator didn't work right! Plus there were a ton of school kids there. I said never again. My corporate travel agent booked me at the Crowne Plaza after the name change. The first time was a good experience and you could see they had worked on a lot of changes. The second time I was in a room smaller then a closet and when I took a shower in the morning the person above me was showering too. I had my workout clothes on the floor in the bathroom and when I went to pick them up they were soaked. The other persons shower water had come pouring down the wall. I was moved to another room and the toilet didn't work. I tried staying there two more times. Both times the toilets failed to delivery. Once the ac was so noisy and putting out a stale moldy smell I had to move to another room. They remodeled but whatever they did they didn't finish the trim work in th bathrooms or update the plumbing. I am a Platinum level Priority Club Member and I was not happy being put in a tiny room. Plus I feel that this place has not done enough to fix their overall conversion. I wrote and complained to the Priority Club about the place. I avoid it like th plague. Stay at the Sheraton across the street - old but the toilets work.

Good place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/09/07
We stayed 1 night @ this hotel the first wk.in March. The staff was attentive, professional, friendly on our slightly early check-in.The hotel location was good for our needs. No additional charge for internet access and parking. We did not use the pool, fitness,or restaurant so can't comment on that. There are several restaurants in either direction of the hotel. They were doing some parking renovations while we were there, but that did not inconvenience us.We were awakened @ 3am by the radio next door and I called the desk to find out if the room was occupied and it wasn't so I asked them to turn off the radio and they promptly did so.I don't know if it was excessively loud or the walls are thin. The room was clean, and beds were very comfortable with extra pillows.Nice touch-hot chocolate in the lobby arrival night. We would stay here again if we were in that area of Richmond.

Exceptional Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/21/07
Not only was the hotel nice, clean, and in a good location for my business trip, but the service was on point. I was especially pleased with the cute little items you receive in your room providing a sound cd, scented room spray, eye mask etc.... The staff was very helpful with directions and the busines center was fully stocked with items to help me get my work done. Oh, and complimentary high speed (normally higher end hotels still charge for that!)The indoor pool and fitness center were just right. I plan on using this hotel for my frquent trips and suggest it for any traveller.

Service, Service, Service!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/12/07
The staff!! From check-in to check-out, the staff was absolutely courteous. I had everyone greet me and even had a humidifier bought for me when I made mention about having sinus problems and wanting to purchase one. They went above and beyond my expectations. The food in the restaurant was beautifully plated and tasted just as good as it looked! I suggest trying the BBQ Quesadilla appetizer!
