Not the best or the worst. Clean and convienant. Odd place for a hotel, it was behind some not nice residential houses. Would not stay again. Wifi signal was good. Pool was scarey...kids refused to swim because it was dirty and small. Sals pizzeria next store give off a horrible fried smell that is blown into the air. Just nasty...
The rooms were small, but clean. We got one with 2 double beds for myself, my wife, and 2 children (ages 6 and 10). We wanted to setup a single air mattress on the floor for one of the kids, but there was not enough room. The room was pretty small. However, the beds were comfortable, the air condition worked well, and the room came with a large mini-fridge and microwave. The room was clean - no smell of smoke and no musty smell. The bathroom was clean, but had a slight smell of mildew. (I think the shower curtain was the culprit). The bath and shower worked well and except for the slight mildew smell, were clean. For the price, this place was great. We basically just spent a few hours a day there and slept there. It is conveniently located to historic Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and the interstate (I-64).
After reading the reviews for this hotel I thought that it would be good for one night while visiting Williamsburg. The location was good but the hotel was just terrible. I have been in a lot of hotels and motels but never felt so uncomfortable as in this one. The rooms smelled terrible and they were not super clean either. The service just did not care about anything and the promised breakfast was nowhere to see. We had a coffe machine in the room without a coffe pot. The water from the shower and sink also smelled really bad. For the price I really expected something better. the only good thing was that we had internet access. Don't be fooled by the pool, its a 2 person pool.
This place was great if you wanted to spend your money on your trip rather than on your hotel room. But, still want a decent place to stay. Very clean and up to date. The contental breakfast isn't located in the lobby but in it's own lounge. It had a nice variety and everything was very fresh. The only problems we experenced were the door to our room stuck a little and there wasn't enough parking so we ended up parking most of the time at Sal's the resterant next to the hotel. I'd definatly stay here again. It was diffinatly one of the nicest Econolodges we've stayed at.
It's not a big fancy hotel, but if you're looking for safety, cleanliness, comfort & convenience to the Williamsburg attractions, this is a great place to stay. And their prices were very reasonable. The people who run this motel were very friendly & helpful. We will definately return there the next time we go to Williamsburg. (It's got a great Italian restaurant connected to their parking lot that you can walk to. Try their food, it's delicious!)
