Econo Lodge Ft Eustis, Newport News

After leaving the Econo Lodge on Jefferson, we tried this one. It wasn't worth the price but the paint was cleaner and the carpet didn't reek of sweat and grease. The bed linen appeared newer than the previous Econo Lodge. The jacuzzi "tub" was smaller than expected and the cheap pink finish on the surround was cracked and in need of modern replacement. The remote for the outdated T.V. didn't work. Access to the the ice machine is quite a hike (upstairs in the first building). I will never recommend this place for friends and/or family. Econo Lodge corporate should pull out of this area before they get sued out of business.

As you can see from the title, the place was nasty and creepy. When I arrived, I had to ring the doorbell at least three times, just for an attendant to come to the bullet-proofed check-in desk. When I went into my room, it smelled like it hadn't been cleaned since the place opened. There were spots on the furniture, and it was just plain uninviting. I had to leave, because there was no way I was going to sleep in the bed. Goodness only knows what was in between those sheets! I recommend that the hotel be closed down, because it is an embarrassment for Ft. Eustis and the surrounding area.

WELL FIRST OF ALL I DID A RESERVATION FOR A STANDARD ROOM WITH A KING SIZE BED. THE ROOM MY HUSBAND AND I GOT HAD TWO DOUBLE BEDS AND A DIRTY BATHROOM. WE THEN CHANGED TO ROOM #2 AND WELL THAT WAS JUST AS BAD, THERE WAS WATERBUGS JUST CHILLIN LIKE THEY OWNED THE PLACE AND THE BATHROOM WAS DIRTY AGAIN SO WE MOVED TO ROOM #3 AND WELL THAT WAS JUST AS BAD, THE BATHROOM WAS DIRTY, THERE WAS A DEAD BUG IN THE CORNER DECAYING, A DEAD BUG UNDER THE SINK, AND AN EXTRA LARGE CRICKET IN THE BATHROOM AS WELL A ROACH CHILLIN ON THE WINDOW SILL. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN, THERE IS NO WAY SOMEONE WOULD WANT BUGS CRAWLING ON THEM WHILE YOU TRYIN TO SLEEP. WE REFUSED TO STAY THERE AND THEY REFUSE DTO REFUND ME MY MONEY. WE ENDED UP STAYING AT HOST INN WHICH IS A VERY NICE PLACE TO STAY.

The workers were very friendly. The things I hated about my staty at the Econo Lodge, were there were no heat in 2 of the rooms I stayed in (I had to change room 3 times). Finally I got a room with heat but the toilet in the room kept me up all night because it was broken, it kept running all night.

I LOVED THE POOLS AND THE SERVICE, I WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK!!! THERE ARE NO ROACHES OR DIRTY STUFF I PROMISE!!
