A good deal
By RonaldT, 06/15/09
I liked the relatively clean room, the good location (on Virginia route 400, close to D.C. and in Old Town), the helpful staff, the free parking, free breakfast, and the rate ($67.99/night). I found that the air conditioner never really got the room very cool. I would certainly stay here again. RJT

We will stay there again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/08
All in all, a great economy place to stay. We stayed for 5 nights, the motel is in a great spot, close to metro. Also pretty close to the waterfront. Managers and employees were all kind and courtious... Good Job! Nathan Ford

WHAT A DUMP - YOU DON'T GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
By weedok, 09/17/08
3 cars were damaged in the parking lot, spaces too small, locks on several, not just 1 room, didn't work, electricity went out in part of hotel, couldn't be repaired until next day, while in lobby complaining about that, others were there to report non working water. That's what I get for trying to save a buck, I stay @ Hampton Inns now. Oh yeah, I was refused a refund.

DUMP
By Richard, 05/24/07
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. You had to heave your shoulder against the room door to open it. I don't mind old hotels but this one was disgusting. The bathroom was last updated in 1967. The coffee pot still had the grinds from the previous guest. The bathroom sink was clogged. There was nothing to hold the bathroom tissue so it was just stacked on the toilet tank. There was mold all around the tub where the tile grout had fallen out. The walls were cracked and stained from water leakage and bad repairs. You couldn't touch the windows without getting black soot on your hands. Two of the windows were cracked. Then to complete the experience at 7:00 AM a garbage compactor truck pulled up right outside the window and loaded trash for 20 minutes.

Bargain in Alexandria
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/10/07
The price is the best in the area. It is clean, but could use a new paint and wallpaper job and overall refurbishing. Some rooms are in better shape than others.

Dirty hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/06
This is hotel is the worst one I've ever stayed in. There were bugs in the bathroom, the floor was dirty and the towels were the very thin (cheap) kind. I was especially disatisfied with the management ( a man named Seene) who were rude and not informed about the area, i.e.-how to get to the Metro station. From this hotel there is a 7 block walk to Washington St.,(which is the center of Alexandria) then another 7 block walk to the Metro station. There were some very strange and frightening characters staying there. One who was lurking in the hallway when I went to the soda machine. You might want to think twice before you allow your children out alone. This was not a good experience. But I guess you get what you pay for at 56.00 per night.

There's a reason it's so cheap in Old Town.
By Brian and Kela, 08/11/06
We couldn't understand why this place was so cheap in such a nice part of town - but after seeing it in person we realized why. It's tidy, old and a bit run-down. Which is odd, because it’s next to half-million dollar homes and in a very expensive area. The location itself was good. At 4.5 miles from downtown DC (very little traffic in that area, comparably) it was the best deal possible under 5 miles from the Mall. We paid $74 a night for king size, non-smoking, two weekdays at the beginning of August. There is no breakfast (coffee only), no internet (Starbucks across the street), no ice machine (although there is an ice bucket), free parking, pets allowed, and no frills whatsoever. If you are looking for the best bang for your buck, in a safe neighborhood, with nothing else – then this is your place.

It is a Travellodge......
By Theodore, 02/22/06
It is a Travellodge. What do you expect? It was not in the worst area of town, and it was not the cleanest place around. That said, for the price it was okay.

Will not stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/05
The hotel needs to refurbished badly. It was cheap but I will stay somewhere else in Arlington next time. There was a 3 block walk to the metro in a seedy area so we never stayed out too late (two women walking in that area at night would not have been a great idea) which was a definite drawback. I will not stay here again.

Will return again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/04
I thought the hotel was in an excellent location. My experience was when I left I forgot my wallet in the night table and had driven all the way to Richmond before I realized it. I called the manager and he held my wallet for me. All items was accounted for thanks to the wonderful service of the manger. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is on a budget and wants to be in the middle of Old Towne.
