There's a reason it's so cheap in Old Town.
We couldn't understand why this place was so cheap in such a nice part of town - but after seeing it in person we realized why. It's tidy, old and a bit run-down. Which is odd, because its next to half-million dollar homes and in a very expensive area.
The location itself was good. At 4.5 miles from downtown DC (very little traffic in that area, comparably) it was the best deal possible under 5 miles from the Mall. We paid $74 a night for king size, non-smoking, two weekdays at the beginning of August.
There is no breakfast (coffee only), no internet (Starbucks across the street), no ice machine (although there is an ice bucket), free parking, pets allowed, and no frills whatsoever.
If you are looking for the best bang for your buck, in a safe neighborhood, with nothing else then this is your place.
