Hanover House, Ashland

When we drove up to the entrance, it almost appeared that this motel was no longer operational. The public areas & reception area are run down. The rooms are dimly lit and do not appear to have been updated in quite some time. The pool was covered/nonoperational. The TV and A/C were barely functioning. The parking lot was poorly lit.

STAYED AT THE HOTEL APPROXIMATELY TWENTY YEARS AGO SO I DECIDED TO TRY IT AGAIN. THE HOTEL NOW IS VERY HARD TO FIND. AFTER EXITING I-95 YOU ONLY HAVE A SMALL SIGN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD DIRECTING YOU TO THE HOTEL. AFTER FINALLY FINDING THE PLACE, I WAS IN TOTAL DISMAY. THE HOTEL APPEARED TO BE RUN DOWN AND NO CARS WERE IN THE PARKING LOT. I THEN NOTICED THAT THE POOL WAS NOT OPERATING. I GOT A KEY FROM THE DESK CLERK AND WENT TO OUR ROOM. THE ROOM HAD A STALE MUSTY ODOR IN IT. I THEN DECIDED THAT THIS WAS NOT THE PLACE FOR US TO STAY SO I CANCELLED MY RESERVATIONS AND FOUND OTHER ACCOMODATIONS. ALSO CONTRARY TO WHAT ONE OF THE WEB SITES SAY, THIS HOTEL IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH BEST WESTERN ANY MORE. IT WAS A BEST WESTERN HOTEL YEARS AGO BUT NOT NOW.

In the middle of no where. can barley be found. Called to see if they had a poll and was told yes. when I arrived the pool is not in working conditon. i asked why did they lie and the clerk claims she didnt lie because they do have a pool. the fact that it was not operable was irrelavant

After staying in several "chain" hotels we were pleasantly surprised to find Hanover House. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great value for the dollar.
