A filthy, charmless disgrace of a motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/20/09
This is an absolutely rundown and dirty motel. The room was disgusting the heat non-existant and the staff managed to be both rude and clueless. Promises of a complimentary paper were met with shrugs and the "free" breakfast was disgusting and cheap. We hated this crumbling and dirty place.

Diamond in the ruff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/04/09
Since the new owners took over this past summer I have seen a steady growth in hospitality and quality. I have been going to The Mountain Road Resort for the past few years and was happy to see someone who actually cared about the resort take it over! I love this place and can't wait to see what they will do with it in the future! If you are looking for a small, family oriented place to stay in Stowe this is the place for you! They are residents of the area and know all the best places to eat, ski, and have a good beer at the end of the day! Keep up the good work Mountain Road Resort!

Great weekend trip!
By JEasas, 09/17/09
My wife and I stayed at the mountain road resort last year and had a great time then too. The staff this year was incredibly helpful, and very personable. They recommended we eat at a little restaurant in town called Harrisons, and we absolutely loved it. This trip was excellent, largely due to the help of the staff at the resort.

Keep going
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/09
We used to stay here over the past few years and really used to have a personal relationship with the owner and his staff. All that has changed now and when the front desk person is not yelling into his cell phone he can't be bothered to tell us where the best places to hike are. We won't stay there again. Not recommended.

Ok for ONE night. Torture for any more
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/10/09
If you are looking for a no-frills place to stay in Stowe and don't need much in creature comforts this is the place. However at over $125.00 plus tax per night we felt that the rooms should be much more comfortable and CLEANER!. Indoor pool was un-heated and the lobby was charmless. We did enjoy the breakfast across the street at The Dutch Pancake House - that at least was charming, wholesome and good!

Not even motel 6 quality
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/09
Dirty and threadbare sheets, rude staff, cold pool and awful "Continental" breakfast are just a few of the thing you will find lurking at The Mountain Road Resort. There are cheaper and better places to be found - at the foot of the driveway perhaps? Trust the reviews stay elsewhere.

Despite management's reviews, IT"S A DUMP
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/09
Bad service, rude staff and a rundown facility. What else can we say - IT'S A MESS! We won't stay there again. I noticed a staffer putting up made up reviews on Trip Advisor and Yahoo Travel! Don't be fooled by bogus reviews the place is a disaster.

Star spangled value with a spectacular view
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/13/09
We stayed over the Fourth of July in one of the one-bedroom units. Beautiful grounds and the kitchen was outfit so well we ate most meals in. Kids loved the pool and we were able to view the fireworks from our patio (great for us as it was raining). Plan to visit again when we can ski the mountain. Don't know why other reviewer was so crabby, these guys are new here but they seem to be doing a nice job and we were pleased with our stay and our service.

Landscapers paradise, guests come second.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/11/09
What a mess. The grounds are overgrown and weedy. The breakfast is a joke and the front desk was rude and unhelpful. We won't EVER stay there again. Besides the rates are a joke for the value.

dirty, dusty and unkempt
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/09
We stopped in on a visit from Montreal to look at rooms for a late summer wedding. When we asked to see a few sample rooms the incredibly rude "boss" Erik at the front desk looked like he could not be bothered with helping us. We were thrown a few keys and told to "go ahead and look" very welcoming (not). stay away! we Booked at Stoweflake a 4 star hotel at virtually the same rate. Don't bother
