We offer a variety of accommodations to suit every taste, every need and every extravagance. There is a $15.00USD per night per pet for a room, or $25.00USD per night per pet for a suite. Smelled Like Wet Dog and...

We slept in our vehicle due to the smell and lack of cleanliness. I reserved a room at the Mountain Road Resort for New Years Eve and it was unbearable, and nothing could be done to accomidate us (including no refund because we used United Airlines to book it). The room smelled like a wet dog, floor was very dirty (the receptionist had to come up and vacuum, and admitted it was discusting, but could do nothing), fire place did not work, fridge/stove/cabinet thng was outdated, leaking and noisy. Bathroom towels were dirty, bathroom door wouldn't close, dresser tops and drawers were dirty. No other hotels had rooms available, so we slept in the truck.

Miss the old days

We, like the last reviewer WERE long time guest at the MRR. The improvements and changes made when Mr. Yohe (Eric) owned the hotel were significant. The rooms were always perfect, the breakfasts were fresh and fantastic, there were always freshly baked cookies at check in, and Eric and his entire staff treated everyone like royalty. If Eric and Vanilla (his lovely dog) continued to operate the hotel we would never consider ANY other place in Stowe. I've never been treated with such kindness, respect and caring. The hotel now is an absolute disaster. There are so many other places in Stowe, keep going past this badly managed disaster.

Bring back the old owner PLEASE!

Our family has vacationed at the Mountain Road for almost 15 years. We were concerned when Jeff sold the hotel to a new group. However, Eric the new owner, was absolutely fantastic. Service was top notch, our needs were instantly met, and he was on-site every single day with his labrador "Vanilla". After he sold the property a series of increasingly inept managers took over and the place literally fell apart. We have since moved on to the Stowe Mountain Resort (which is fantastic) but miss the personal service, warmpth and attention to detail we recieved from Eric, Vanilla the Lab and his staff.

D I S G U S T I N G!

Just awful. The website is bogus, there is NO in room pay per view, the food was unsanitary and had ants in the cereal! Everywhere we looked something was wrong - cracked walls, peeling paint, a broken hot tub, flthy bathrooms. BEDBUGS! Stay away.

Absolutely dismal. RUN away!

Few places I've been to in Stowe have slipped as badly as this place. What once was a very charming motel with a caring staff (and dog!) has become a rundown disaster. Filthy sheets, dusty, ruined bedspreads, and brown water dripping from the tap. The hot tub was broken and the absolutely clueless and rude front desk staff ignored our issues.

A filthy, charmless disgrace of a motel

This is an absolutely rundown and dirty motel. The room was disgusting the heat non-existant and the staff managed to be both rude and clueless. Promises of a complimentary paper were met with shrugs and the "free" breakfast was disgusting and cheap. We hated this crumbling and dirty place.

Diamond in the ruff

Since the new owners took over this past summer I have seen a steady growth in hospitality and quality. I have been going to The Mountain Road Resort for the past few years and was happy to see someone who actually cared about the resort take it over! I love this place and can't wait to see what they will do with it in the future! If you are looking for a small, family oriented place to stay in Stowe this is the place for you! They are residents of the area and know all the best places to eat, ski, and have a good beer at the end of the day! Keep up the good work Mountain Road Resort!

Great weekend trip!

My wife and I stayed at the mountain road resort last year and had a great time then too. The staff this year was incredibly helpful, and very personable. They recommended we eat at a little restaurant in town called Harrisons, and we absolutely loved it. This trip was excellent, largely due to the help of the staff at the resort.

Keep going

We used to stay here over the past few years and really used to have a personal relationship with the owner and his staff. All that has changed now and when the front desk person is not yelling into his cell phone he can't be bothered to tell us where the best places to hike are. We won't stay there again. Not recommended.

Ok for ONE night. Torture for any more

If you are looking for a no-frills place to stay in Stowe and don't need much in creature comforts this is the place. However at over $125.00 plus tax per night we felt that the rooms should be much more comfortable and CLEANER!. Indoor pool was un-heated and the lobby was charmless. We did enjoy the breakfast across the street at The Dutch Pancake House - that at least was charming, wholesome and good!
