Commodores Inn, Stowe

The staff is absolutely wonderful. The rooms were clean and the food was great! Can't wait to go back!

This is simply a well photographed Motel 6. Don't be fooled like we were!

More to follow. Represented ownership very lax in attitude and not warm..just out to "stay afloat", and not really about the community environment that Stowe represents.

We stayed for 2 days during our honeymoon and enjoyed our stay a lot. We are already making plans to return for our 1st anniversary. It is very convenient to the downtown. We loved the lake behind the hotel, it was very beautiful.

The hotel is poorly lit throughout. It's so bad that people were walking through dog droppings in the lobby without realizing it until it was too late. Lighting in our rooms was okay after we bought our own lightbulbs. The beds were lumpy and the pillows stiff. The buffet dinner was abysmal. We were turned away, with reservations, from an empty dining room because of a lack of staff. We couldn't tell the chicken from the fish even after tasting. Breakfast was nothing you couldn't pick up at 7-11...cellophane wrapped junk or unappetizing powdered eggs. Our room was on the first floor and the noise from upstairs kept us up till past 11. After a long day of skiing, it was frustrating to be told by the front desk that the parents of the kids above us weren't around to deal with the problem. It sounded like they were jumping rope in their ski boots. Upon checkout, we realized it could have been worse. Many guests didn't have hot water that morning. The parking lot of the hotel was a sheet of ice, and there was no salt or sand in evidence. It was a treacherous stroll every morning to our vehicle--and my teens and I are in good shape! (This was 12/05). All in all, I'll sleep in my car before checking into the Commodores Inn again.
