Newport City Motel, Newport

We decided to give Newport City Motel a second chance and were disapointed. Our first stay was several years ago and we were not thrilled, but decided to try again. We paid extra for queen sized beds in the new addition hoping for something special. We were given a new room when we discovered that the bathroom exhaust fan did not work in our original room. My fiance', who is six feet, had his feet hanging off the bed all night and the mattresses were very uncomfortable. They may advertise that they have queen size beds, but they are the shortest queens I have ever seen. The room was clean and spacious. We were too fatigued from tossing and turning to get up for the breakfast and cut our trip short a day, choosing to head home.

This place is clean and comfortable. The only problem is the bubbles in the hot tub do not work. We've been going there for 6 years, and they never have worked. However, the rooms are very clean. The beds are comfortable, the shower is hot. There is a restaurant next door. The best place to stay in Newport.

I stayed here twice when I was buying a house in Newport. It was having some building work done earlier this year to add more amenities. The people could not have been more helpful, they told me all about the area, where the food was good, where it wasn't! All in all a great hotel in a great location, 20 mins from Jay Peak and 20 mins from Owls Head, two great ski areas. Only an hour from the major tourist town of Stowe. Asy to get to from both Burlington (2 hours) and Boston (3 hours but all interstate). Would recommend it to anyone

this hotel is in a small town, with a small town price, but it belongs in a big city..

I stayed here on a ski trip in March 2004 and it was a great find. Close to Jay Peak at a fraction of the cost. Great places to eat nearby and a great breakfast place a short walk down the road. Rooms are simple, old fashion motel style, with only the basics. Clean rooms and good heat. Pool is nice but you need to walk outside to get there. All in all a great value and I'll be staying there again this year.
