Red Roof Inn Rutland Killington, Rutland

We stayed here after our plans for camping were washed out...literally. The free breakfast was better than most. Not just cereal/pastries but eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and we had no complaints. Wish I could say that about other places we stayed on our vacation.

Don't get this Red Roof hotel mixed up with the other one specifically in Killington. This one is in Rutland proper. The other one is the one which seems to have no heating in the cold winter months. Our experience there was not the most pleasant. We would certainly not return there. (As of this writing, I am not even sure that that Red Roof hotel in Killington is still a Red Roof hotel. It no longer is listed on the hotels on the Red Roof website. I guess they got the boot.) However, this Red Roof hotel in Rutland proper was fine. The staff was very good and helpful. The hotel is very clean and well managed. We were very comfortable. It is located in a very good place so as to have access to all the nearby points of interest. They have a very nice continental breakfast which saved us having to go for breakfast at a restaurant and pay. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. We certainly will stay here again.

Room temp in the mid 80's all three nights. Talked with front desk and maintenance 3 times not resolved. Could not stand on bathroom floor so hot, not that you'd want to it was filthy. Toilet ran continuously Used towel to clean floor, next day found this towel was refolded and hung back up dirty. Don't want to know where the towels were before we arrived, hoepfully a washer. Last night no maid service, well someone emptied our garbage & folded dirty towels Walks and stairs were covered with ice and snow for several days and lastly the Smoke detector in room had been removed.

Traveling to Lake George, we decided to break to the up and stay in Rutland. The Inn is a good place to stay for the money. Our room was nice(very comfortable bed) and the breakfast was fantastic(waffles). What a great addition to a continental breakfast.I would stay there again when traveling thru Rutland.
