It depends on what you're looking for
By Joel, 09/02/09
Beware! Do not stay here unless: you don't mind a hotel lobby that smells like urine and mold; steps from the parking lot to the front door made with cinder blocks; a pool that could be green one day and sudsy the next; and housekeeping service that is optional. We stayed for five nights, the sheets were never changed and the carpet never vaccumed. On the other hand, the hotel room was relatively quiet and the hotel itself is nicely located close to Smugglers Notch, Mt Mansfield, and other beautiful areas. It is also less expensive than hotels, inns and resorts in Stowe. But - this hotel could really use a good renovation.

COMFORTABLE AND AFFORDABLE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/11/08
THIS IS NOT THE RITZ. BUT IF YOU WANT A CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, AND QUIET ROOM THIS IS A GOOD CHOICE. WE STAYED 1 NIGHT ON THE UPPER LEVEL. THE ROOM HAD A REFRIDGERATOR AND A MICROWAVE. THE SHOWER WAS CLEAN AND HOT. I'LL STAY THERE AGAIN.

So bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/06/07
First of all, the staff was friendly and accomodating- this review has little to do with their customer service. The rooms were disappointing, but seemed fairly clean. The inn smelled like cigarette smoke, despite being in a non-smoking room. Rooms on the second floor shared a common balcony and our sliding glass door did not lock- in fact, the lock was broken off. This was distressing given the other guests' behavior. Upon our arrival, a couple appeared to be having a domestic dispute and were swearing loudly at one another. There was an incredibly intoxicated half dressed man in the hallway pounding on doors at midnight. We called the desk several times and received no help. The man lost control of his bowels and bladder and caused quite a disruption. My friends' room had a large hole in the wall with exposed pipes and their bed was noticeably saggy in the middle. I am aware that you get what you pay for, but this was pretty ridiculous.

Our stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/04
We stayed one night at the Deer Run Motor Inn. It is a simple and clean place with very nice staff. It is on the highway but it has a large green area in the back with a creek going through it. We were glad to stay there and whenever we are in the area, plan to stay there. This is simple and modest but accessible and friendly and near a lot of beautiful places.
