Wonderful
By Jacob, 09/05/09
Price was great. Room was huge, clean and full of amenities. Pool was large, kid friendly, and clean. Great access to the beach. The main attraction was the seafood buffet -- fine dinning buffet (not a thing fried) and the price for two was $70. GREAT!!!

The biggest disappointment of my life.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/09
The rooms are extremely over priced, the staff had no clue what there job was, elevators worked when they wanted to. Long walk from the parking garage and the elevator did not work at all. The pool was extremely dirty. I should have known better when checking in. I stood next to someone checking out that was so pissed off I thought the police would need to be called. Take big buckets of $ if chance a stay at this Sheraton. I will never stay at another one, don't care where it is at.

Not Great. Do not Recommend staying here!!
By Jessica, 06/22/09
Not great for the amount of money you pay. My family stayed here June 2009, and were not impressed. The elevators did not work, so there was always a 5-10 minute wait for them and they were always filled with about 30 people. The have been down since the hurricane, I wish I was told this when I made my reservations. The hallways were dirty, filled with falling sheetrock from the ceiling. We asked for a microwave for our room and were ignored so my husband went to the restaurant and asked to warm our food up there. The restaurant employees were extremely helpful and even gave us a $35 credit towards our breakfast the following morning. The only nice thing about our stay was the swimming pool...very nice! Oh and the employees at the restaurant.

Not worth it
By Rebeca, 06/22/09
I was hoping for a fun family vacation, but that wasn't what I got. For starters we had to wait for about 20 min. for service in the loby when there was only one person before us. We thought it was all over when we cheked-in, but we discovered that out of three elevators only one was working. Now to topi it all off, the next day we left our room at 10 am and the housekeepers where in the next room "cleaning" (they were chatting theur mouths off) and we didn't come back untill 8:30pm to discover our room was exactly as we left it; we called the front desk for them to get someone to come up and clean it, we waited for about 15 min. and no one came, we wound up leaving that same night. Now that is really unacceptable for the 300 dollars we are paying.

Outstanding Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/09
The Sheraton has been completely refurbished in looks but the great staff stayed the same. Their welcoming hospitality makes it a spot we look forward to returning to visit. The new menu was guest-friendly; the food was very good - especially the shrimp tacos. Our family enjoys it.

Over priced
By cassidi, 05/26/09
They opened the hotel to early after hurricane Dolly. Only one elevator worked. You can use the service elevator with the employs.

Yearly Sheraton Guest
By Karen, 07/26/08
This was our fourth year to visit the Sheraton at S. Padre. Thankfully it was two weeks before Hurricane Dolly. I have read so many poor reviews of this hotel and honestly have to say I am surprised when i do so. we have never had a problem while staying there and as a matter of fact, it seems to get better every year. this year, they had updated all the T.V.'s in the room. While they are building the luxury condos (The Saphhire) right next to it, it has never interfered with our stay. we usually reserve what is called a junior suite (there are only a limited # of them) and find it to be perfect for our family of 4. One of the biggest improvements to me is the parking garage. although it is a little bit of a walk to your vehicle, it is awesome to get into a vehicle that has not been "cooking" in the Texas summer sun. One disadvantage is if you are wanting to do a lot of sun bathing at the pool, The Sapphire casts a lot of shade on the pool area. It is 30 stories. It is my understanding that The Sheraton is associated in some way to The Sapphire and will be sharing some services. this year they were offering massage services, for an additional cost of course, which i did take advantage of. another thing that has happened to us a couple of times is large church groups with teenagers being there, as they were this year. the teens can be obnoxious and push all the buttons on the elevators, etc. We had to complain this year and did notice a significant change in that. i would recommend this hotel but you may want to inquire about large groups of teens that may be there.
