Yearly Sheraton Guest
This was our fourth year to visit the Sheraton at S. Padre. Thankfully it was two weeks before Hurricane Dolly. I have read so many poor reviews of this hotel and honestly have to say I am surprised when i do so. we have never had a problem while staying there and as a matter of fact, it seems to get better every year. this year, they had updated all the T.V.'s in the room. While they are building the luxury condos (The Saphhire) right next to it, it has never interfered with our stay. we usually reserve what is called a junior suite (there are only a limited # of them) and find it to be perfect for our family of 4. One of the biggest improvements to me is the parking garage. although it is a little bit of a walk to your vehicle, it is awesome to get into a vehicle that has not been "cooking" in the Texas summer sun. One disadvantage is if you are wanting to do a lot of sun bathing at the pool, The Sapphire casts a lot of shade on the pool area. It is 30 stories. It is my understanding that The Sheraton is associated in some way to The Sapphire and will be sharing some services. this year they were offering massage services, for an additional cost of course, which i did take advantage of. another thing that has happened to us a couple of times is large church groups with teenagers being there, as they were this year. the teens can be obnoxious and push all the buttons on the elevators, etc. We had to complain this year and did notice a significant change in that. i would recommend this hotel but you may want to inquire about large groups of teens that may be there.
