Quality Inn Ennis, Ennis

I don't live very far from the Quality inn in Ennis, about 50 miles, but really enjoy staying there to just "get away". I have stayed several times to go to the Galaxy Drive-In Theatre. The folks at the Quality Inn make you feel right at home. Always friendly! There's plenty of good food to eat at breakfast, and the owner, Rudy Ozymy (Sp?), is often there in the morning visiting with the guests. The pool and grounds are quite nice and very well kept. I particularly like the Kng rooms because they have a Lazy Boy recliner, fridge/micro. The hotel is right in the middle of the action ( shopping/dining). Great place to stay, will do so many more times!

The only positive thing that we could say about this property is that it is within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The place is in need of some real deep renovations. The tub drain was rusty, the sink cracked, the ceiling sagging, the chair threadbare, the tabletop wobbled, (so badly when we tried to use our laptop that we had to move to the bed), the chair's arm was loose and I pinched my finger in it as I was sliding up to the table and there was a lot of noise from the outside and the adjoining rooms. The place is "motel" style with all doors opening to the outside and if your drapes are open, everyone that walks by can see directly into your room, as there aren't any sheers. There were some comments made in the check-in area that we found to be uninviting. The breakfast was lacking variety and tasteless. We would never recommend this place to anyone.

Upon arrival, we presented a credit card for payment...a clerical error charged us ten times the correct amount for our room. After IMMEDIATELY notifying the management they attempted to help correct the situation. As time went on, however, said mgmnt. became belligerent when this one seemingly innocent occurence spiralled almost out of control. As a participant in retail myself, I cannot believe this retailer went on to charge me for the room. In this exact situation in my job, we always try to "comp" the customer to SOME degree. My advice....PAY CASH at this location!
