MCM Elegante Suites Abilene, Abilene

My family and I drove in from a long trip of caverns & snow in NM. We ate dinner at Abuelo's and asked if there were any nicer hotels in town with a separate living and bedroom, this place fit the bill. (We had been traveling with our 5 year old for a few days and wanted a separate living area for some adult time.) When I went to pay for our Presidential Suite, I was told that company policy prohibits children, of any age in the suite. I assured them that we have traveled the world with her, including business hotels in Germany and Belgium and never had a problem. I was told repeatedly, no. I asked for them to call a manager and was abruptly told no, again. I returned to the car and lightly explained the issue to my husband. We went down the street to the Hilton, which has an indoor pool, great for little ones. It was also clean and friendly.

To start check in was a nightmare, the service would have been better at a bowling alley. The room was filthy, had to be moved. The room they moved me to was dirty, I gave up on a clean room. The buffet in the Restaraunt was tge worse I ever ate in my life. The atrium where they have the complimentary cocktails, it was so dirty we took in Chelsea across the street and paid for our drinks. They had a party next door to us, the management would not quite it down. The complimentary Breakfast, never mind. I went to complain to the Manager, she came out in a sweat suit, she looked like a tramp from the streets, acted worse. We had six rooms, Satan will be standing out on Ridgemont St. selling popcicles before we go back.

The place was clean, and has a nice atmosphere. the staff was pleasant and helpful. the rooms were cozy and nicely furnished. The beds were perfect and had nice linens. We slept like babies. They offer a free hot breakfast that was okay, and they have a free happy hour. We enjoyed our stay and hated we had to check out early. There is an indoor pool, pool tables, ping pong and other games to play. They have a lounge that has live music. I will stay there everytime I go to Abilene., Great for the price.

The first night found the TV in bedroom didn't work. First morning discovered in room coffee pot had leftover coffee from previous guest. Coffee cups did not look clean and there were partially consumed bottles of water and Dr pepper left in the fridge. Remnants of mold in shower that I could easily rub off with my finger. Needlessd to say we weren't confident the room was cleaned properly. Carpet was filthy... Try putting on clean white socks and walk across the room and take a look. We were shocked. I have stayed at this location since 2003 when it was the Ambassador. Breakfast was not as good as in past. We willconsider one of the newer hotels our next visit...even if it costs more.

Our 1st day the housekeeper removed our items from our suite with specific instructions not to touch the items. (Dishware) Plus our bathroom light does not work properly, as well as the main entry door to the suite does not close properly, you have to kick the bottom of the door for you to lock it. Our 3rd morning at 6:00 a.m. I went to breakfast and was treated badly by the cook because I ordered a fried egg I was yelled at in front of other patrons as if I were a child. I am 35 and it made me not want breakfast. I ended up eating a bagel in my suite due to embarrassment from the cook yelling at me. For $2600 a month that we are paying I will be trying a different hotel. It is a pretty hotel but the staff is rude and I have been told that the manager would be notified. If the manager was notified then he / she did not follow up with us. We are not satisfied customers and will be checking into another hotel. However the housekeeping dept has followed up and returned our items and have checked on us daily to make sure our belongings were still with us. Not the Hotel Manager. Again the hotel is beautiful but I would be cautious in ordering eggs for breakfast.

This is a very nice place to stay. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We were most impressed with the beds, the best I have ever slept on, not your usual hotel bedding. The rooms are actually suites and were in great condition. We ordered room service one night and it was great, and served hot and fast. The free breakfast was also very good. The only problem I saw with this place was the parking, but it was not enough of a problem to keep us from going back. Overall very impressed.

I could not believe the quality of this hotel at such a reasonable price. I'm not a huge drinker, but they even have an hour every evening where all drinks are free. The only downside when I stayed there was their internet was only accessed through the t.v. in your room and there was no way to get online with my laptop.

The rooms were really nice and comfortable. We shared a room with another couple and so the private bedrooms are great for this. This hotel has an excellent bar. They have a special everyday for free drinks from 5-7pm. The free breakfast was great! They serve it hot buffet style and they have everything!!! The staff and service were friendly. If you are into the nightlife it is located across the street from a trendy Sports Bar "Buffalo Wild Wings." They have one of the most beautiful lobbies and landscaping I have ever scene. Way to keep up with the place. I will return here for sure.

We stay at this hotel every year during the Labor Day weekend and we love it. Free drinks and the breakfast is excellent. Friendly Staff and friendly environment. We love it all the way around. We have never had a problem with booking or reservations.

Very clean and liked the indoor pool. Great food too. Overall very, very likeable - not much to dislike.
