excellent

We were scheduled for 4 days and ended up staying 6. The staff are unbelievable, somehow they all have a very positive attitude and make you feel like they really are pleased that you are staying at their hotel. The extras are special, a great breakfast and dinner with drinks make it a special stay. You can't go wrong for a very reasonable price and you'll enjoy the staff's interest in you. If you plan to visit Corpus Christi, you can't go wrong staying at the Plaza Inn.

Alicia is the best front desk clerk ever!
By Tykeiarah, 01/21/09
The hotel just changed owners from a Drury Inn to Plaza inn but it's now even better. I didn't have to eat out much, because there was a hot breakfast every morning and an evening happy hour with free drinks. I felt safe staying here because the parking lot is gated and a key card is needed to get in. Also the staff were so nice and helpful, Alicia was the best one there though. You should definetly stay here.

Not a bad place to stay, but not the best either.
By Java Boo Boo, 12/14/07
I stayed here the last week in Jul 2007 for a business trip to the Naval Air Station (about a 20 minute drive from this hotel to the island). The staff was very friendly upon registering and I found the hotel decor to be neat and acceptable. To me, the room seemed smaller than your typical hotel room, but since I was travelling alone, it was not a big deal. I would have hated to have a family crammed in there though. Likewise the bathroom area seemed unusually cramped. Nonetheless, the room had 2 full size beds, a tv, dresser, nightstand, and desk area. The hotel provided free wi-hi, which I did use quite a bit. The best part of the entire stay was the free breakfast and dinners they provided, which helped me save a lot of money. For breakfast, they served sausage, eggs, biscuits, french toast, bagels, waffles, cereal, fruit, and donuts and pastries. There was also a drink machine for cokes, milk, and juice. I found the breakfast to be quite acceptable and delicious. For dinner, the food varied each night. The first night consisted of salad, pizza, baked potatos, nachos, and chips. The second night was some sort of mexican stuff which I didn't eat, along with the other stuff mentioned above, and then the final night was hot dogs, which I avoided and went to the Olive Garden instead. The pool outside was small, and looked a little ghetto. I never got in, but it was really run down looking. A lot of families were out there though, so it must not have been too bad. The overall location of the property seems to be in a slightly shady area of town, but there is a fence all the way around the propoerty, and there are gates with security camears at all entrances. You can't get into the parking lot without your key card. So it was pretty safe. Overall, I would probably stay here again, as it is 10 minutes from the airport, and the city is easily accessable form this location as well.

Two years in a row...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/07
I stayed here for the Beach to Bay Marathon Relay. The morning staff at the free breakfast were fantastic! They were attentive to everyone and re-stocking the food in a timely manner because it was busy. Another plus was this stay cost less than last year. One drawback was the room wasn't cleaned upon my return from the race that afternoon. Returning that evening from the beach and dinner, it was cleaned; so no problem afterall. Free beverages in the evening was nice since I was exhausted after a full day.

Another Car Break In
By DahH, 12/13/06
My vehicle was damaged and robbed while in the parking lot. There are security cameras, but this place has a history of theft. Ask if there is a sucurity guard before you make reservations.

Super Clean, Centrally located, and a super breakfast! The security system was tops! Actually, it was better than any I had ever experienced. Thank you for a great 3 night stay.

Drury Inn employees were very curteous and helpful. The room was very clean and very spacious. I'll stay at any Drury Inn.
