Econo Lodge, San Angelo

The pictures do not resemble the room we stayed in at all. The carpet was filthy and had a hole cut in it. The bathrooms were very small and the bath water was red from rusty pipes or something when turned on. Beds were small and lumpy. Curtains were not hanging properly. Air conditioning system could have been much better. Service was not great either. There was a coupon for 1 free breakfast but due to the condition of the room, we decided to eat elsewhere.

Ever heard of the movie, The Shining? Well, this is where they filmed! Seriously, the place gave me the creeps and the rooms were dirty. The curtains were falling off of the windows and there were hooks in the ceiling. They reminded me of a torture chamber. The place needs some major renovation, pest control, and the health department to shut down the pool! I will never stay there again.

The room was great for the price. Had a fridge, good tv. The location to downtown is real good. Also close to the lilies. Sure you can pay more, but you really don't get much more. I loved the breakfast at the cafe. A lot of locals are there early and can answer questions and will even help the hostess fill your coffee cup. The front desk people were nice. Beware however, a little smoking goes on in the lobby. My room did not smell of smoke though. Yes the curtains were old, but functional.

I was extremely dissatisfied with the Howard Johnson Hotel stay in San Angelo. The room was filthy...cobwebs on the ceiling, stained carpets, curtains hanging off the rail, dirty bath tub, dirty bathroom floor, hairs in the bath and tiled floor, rust stained bathtub, leaky faucet, holes in walls, dirty stained wallpaper,stained towels to dry ourselves on I could go on..... One breakfast voucher for 2 people....we didnt eat breakfast in the end...because of this. The pictures on the website make the hotel look great...they are over rated its run down and the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I was extremely disappointed in what looked like a clean comfortable hotel. I was mislead.

The bathroom was so small you hardly turn around in it. The shower didn't work right. The bed sheets were not tucked under the mattress. The air conditioner was not working well. It was warm in the room when we arrived & finally got cool in the middle of the night. The hallway was very warm the 2 days were there. The hairdryer kept falling out of the wall holder. We were very disappointed in the Howard Johnson in San Angelo, TX.
