Holiday Inn & Suites Plaza - Beaumont, Beaumont

Staff was rude. They screwed up my reservation and when I showed them my confirmation email they started trying to lie their way out of it. The room was musty smelling and loud. There is a bar in the middle of hotel and the noise from bar echoes all over hotel. I was suppose to be there five days but checked out after one night. I am a club gold member and was very disappointed.

I received exceptional service given during our recent TX TOPS SRD Convention held at your facilities, April 8 & 9 2011. From the time I arrived April 5 until I left April 10, "everyone" wore a smile and was there to take care of our needs and requests. Our theme being "Wings of Change" you even carried out our theme with butterflies. I personally think at least one of you, if not several personally stayed on the property for the entire week as someone was always available. One or more of you were always visible and available to ask if there were any additional help or assistance you could offer. Sarah, as did several of you would personally contact me to say when you would be leaving for the day and time you would be back the following morning. Plus I was given contact numbers where I could reach most of you on a 24 hour basis, if needed. The banquet staff is definitely to be commended for setting up the rooms and taking care of some last minutes changes that needed to be addressed. Several times either myself or others of my committee were able to just go to the front desk and tell whoever was on duty of our needs and within minutes it would be addressed and taken care of. In my 24 years as TOPS Coordinator, I have served as Chairman of KOPS on International Conventions in Texas and Colorado plus worked on all Texas Conventions along with attending State TOPS Conventions in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, Kansas and Arkansas. Never had I witnessed a more attentive staff. Leaving was like saying goodbye to special friends. We were indeed given the royal treatment. Special Hugs to all! I will most definitely recommend your facility to everyone.

I stayed there last week in one of the suites only be be waken to a bed full of bed bugs. There were three beds in the suite and all the beds had bugs. We were moved to another room by the thoughtless staff and guess what more bugs. The night mangers suggested that we moved the bugs to the other room when we moved our things and they were comping the room. I felt like she was saying stop bothering me the room is free. I explained to her that money was not the problem because I had my money when I booked the room. When I asked for a real manager to be at my room door the next morning no one ever came. We I reported the incident the next morning the manager told me I they do not have bugs. HAHAHA!!! I have video and she almost dropped to her knees. The night manager never reported the incident. And the room was ready to be booked by another victim. After everyone saw the video the room was taken off the market. This is room 620 and 720. Please beware.

We got back to our room at 3 p.m. after having left the room at 9:30 a.m. to find the room not made up. Nothing had been done. I called the front desk and asked if our room had been missed (We REALLY wanted a nap- had a busy day. Thought we could crash when we go back.) The man at the desk gave a non-commital (almost surly) answer that they get to it at various times, and someone would be right up. We waited another half hour, and recalled the front desk. The nice young lady (and i use the adjective because it's the first time it's warranted) said someone would be right up. 10 minutes later two housekeepers showed up and asked us what we needed, and looked surprized when we wanted our room made up- said they were very busy, and asked if we'd had the do-not-desturb sign out earlier. We had not. I didn't even mention the thing that looked like a fecal smear on the curtains. Unrelated to service- the mattresses and linenes are far inferior to the HI Express. This place has decided management issues.

We stayed here this weekend and I must say it could have been a great experinece. The front desk staff was not very friendly and our room was never cleaned. But this was not the worst part. The mildew/moldy smell was so overwelheming, I have been sick for the last three days. When I asked the front desk staff what could be done, they told me they would have house keeping come because there were no rooms for us to move to. But remember our room was never evne cleaned, which means house keeping never came. I take that back. As my husband was in the shower, I came in the suite to find the housekeeper making the bed. I informed her that there was no need because we were checking out. This is a lovely hotel otherwise but the smell in the rooms was just terrible.

We stayed in the presidential suite on September 22 and it was the best room I have ever stayed in ever! We had 5 people in that room and me and my boyfriend slept on the floor with a bunch of pillows and it felt like we were sleeping on clouds! We will be back for sure!

We stayed here while at a Baseball Tournament and truly enjoyed ourselves. The indoor pool was a hit with the kids, the grown-ups enjoyed the lounge, the restaurant was great and the indoor waterfall is beautiful. The staff service is superb. We will definitely be back every time.

Due to a job relocation. I had to stay at this hotel for 3 months. I enjoyed my stay the best way I could add the staff was always accomodating. They were renovating during our stay - that was my biggest complaint. There were construction workers all over the place. The loud hammering noises(at very early times in the morining) and the water being turned off several times during construction was horrible. The maid service - most of them were great. The front desk personnel was always attentive. The few complaints I had was the one computer in the business center - always had to wait for people to stop using it (and of course you always would have those ones that will sit on the computer all day - no courtesy to others). Also, sometimes the key card to the door didn't work so I would have to quite often go back down to the front desk so they could re-activate it. Now we did several times see those big tree cockroaches in our room which was nasty and scarey. However I was told those bugs are very common in that area (I just couldn't get use to them).

Although the hotel is under rennovation, it was quite clean and comfortable. We had no advance reservations, walked in, the desk clerks were quite helpful and pleasant. They recommended good restaurants and furnished a menu from one location. Little pricey at $85 per night with rennovations being done. But then we were walk-ins and did not have advance reservations. Pickup a travel magazine, afterwards we noticed a coupon for $59 per night in one magazine, but the other magazine had one for $89 per night!
