11 reviews for Park Place Hotel Memphis, Memphis
Affordable and luxurious
By Rebecca, 07/13/09
I am SO glad to be staying in this hotel that I couldn't wait to write a positive review... in fact, I'm writing this from my room on the hotel's WiFi. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are cool and quiet even in this 100-degree weather, the furnishings are modern and seem to have been updated quite recently. The staff is friendly and helpful. Free, convenient parking out front. Free breakfast (with the waffle machine, which I always like). Cookies at the front desk. Vanilla sugar and coconut lime verbena toiletries from Bath & Body Works. This is what a hotel should be.

Wonderful Hotel
By dannyf, 03/25/09
Loved everything about park place hotel. staff was very friendly. My husband and i stayed at a sherton in birmingham and had to pay over 200.00 dollars for 1 night. that hotel was just awful. when we stayed here at park place we thought we were in a 5 star hotel but it didn't cost but 100.00 dollars.we love this hotel and can't wait to return once again.

Kicked Out!!!
By Darcy, 08/31/08
My group and I weren't in the hotel long enough to like anything about it. We brought 2 small dogs into the room, were immediately notified that there was a $75 dog charge, and were asked to leave the hotel right away. We offered to take the dogs somewhere else so that we could still stay in the room, but the manager insisted that we leave while threatening to call the police otherwise. No documentation was shown for the procedures or protocol in which the company deals with pets other than a small sign that says there is a $75 animal charge. If full, I am out over $200 dollars and had a headache to deal with. I do not recommend this hotel at all because the management is extremely un-professional.

First class hotel, bargain rate
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/07
There is so much to compliment that it is difficult to know where to begin. In general, the hotel is elegant. The lobby is nicely appointed. The staff is well trained, exceptionally friendly, and go to great lengths to assist. The hotel is very well maintained and housekeeping is superb. The breakfast area is large with a good selection. The rooms are average size but come with a refrigerator stocked with complimentary beverages; a large TV; new pillow-top mattresses and high-end bedding; Bath and Body Works shampoos and soaps; high-speed internet connection; and more. The large exercise room is well-equipped with a variety of equipment. The parking area is adequate, nicely landscaped, with on-site night-time security. The entrance is in the eastbound lanes of Poplar/U.S. 72 and is a bit difficult to see, but there is a quick turnaround just past the I-240 overpass if needed. The hotel has a web-site but it would not accept our reservation; just a temporary glitch. Memphis is a very active city with continuous special events. Plan well ahead for a reservation and treat yourself to the Park Place hotel. It is a great hotel at a remarkably affordable price. I have paid a great deal more at similar hotels and must say that Park Place is an excellent value.

Wonderful hotel
By Christian, 02/03/07
My finance and I were in town for the annual game between Jackson State University and Tennessee State University. The hotel is located perfectly in East memphis. It is easily accesible to restaurants in East Memphis as well as Germantown. However, the hotel itself was hard to get to because it lies between popular east and west. You really have to pay attention coming off 240. As far as the room and the staff, you cannot beat it!! The bathroom was a little small and the walls are kind of thin. But as far as details, the hotel is beyond any other. In my opinion, it is one of the best kept secrets in memphis.

Worked well with kids
By garch, 07/12/06
We stayed here on our way to Jackson, Ms.. It was right off the highay and convenient for re-entry. We have three children ages 1,4, and 5. The outdoor pool was perfect for entertainment. The breakfast had everything we needed. Our room was clean and roomy enough to pop-up the porta-crib. We decided to swing by the Memphis Zoo before we left for Ms.. It's about a 10-15 minute drive (straight shot), but only because there are many stoplights enroute. We highly recommend the zoo. The Park Place elevators are mirrored on the inside and not once did we see a fingerprint or smudge. The staff were very helpful and courteous. We paid $114 total for one night and were very pleased and think you will be as well.

CAN'T WAIT TO VISIT AGAIN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/24/05
It was my husband and mine first thanksgiving. We had invited guest from out of town to come and share it with us in our home in Memphis,Tn. We were notified ahead of time that our guest were bringing their relatives. I called to make reservation for the extra guests.Wanting everything to be perfect. I visited the hotel in person. I asked the attendant if I could view one of the bedroom. He was very helpful and couresty., The bedroom which was a double, beds were neatly made, and the bathroom was impressive. My guests were all satisfied with their stay and that made my husband and I pleased. Thank you for making our first thanksgiving a memoriable.

Can't Wait to Do It Again Next Year !!
By Doug, 06/02/05
This hotel was GREAT for the price. All the amenities were nice as advertised, apparently it was recently remodeled. A Great location. Not walking distance from much, but it's right off the Loop & Poplar is pretty much the main strip. I liked the computers in the lobby & the TV's around the hotel.
