Family Inns of America, Caryville

the family has recently been purchased ,and will converted into and holiday inn express , keep an eye out for this conversion

The Caryville Family Inn location closed in 2007. As of July, 2008, it remains closed. There is no signage out front, so it's not apparent if anyone plans to reopen it.

I am sorry to say that our stay was not a pleasant one. The young lady at the front desk was very pleasant. Our problem was not with her, but with the room. It was absolutely horrible. If we were not so exhausted we would have moved on and gotten our money back. I for one will never set foot in another Family Inns of America nor will I direct anyone I know in thier direction on their travels. This was our first stay and will defiantly be our last. We have learned our lesson well. Before we rent with any establishment we will ask to view the room we will be occupying first. I might add that another couple on the same night as we were leaving had rented a room and then decided to move on after going inside. List of problems with the room: 1. Floor not vacuumed, 2. One of the beds had been slept in ( hair and pubic hair on sheets.) Sheet were very wrinkled as if someone had slept, the maid came back in and instead of changing the sheets just made up the bed. 3. Holes in Bed spread 4. Shower dirty 5. Toilet dirty ( urine and pubic hair on the seat and around the bowl ) 6. Smear of something brown on the drawer (big smear) next to the bed closest to the bathroom. 6. Stained lamp shade 7. Mirror in bathroom had toothpaste splash marks. 8. Crome on sink fixtures not clean (Water and toothpaste marks) 9. Both walls on either side of sinks had toothpaste slash marks all the ways down. (not just a few but it looked like the wall hadn't been washed for a month.) 10. the door jam in the bathroom needed cleaned. 11. Bathroom floor not washed. ( allot of thick dirt in corners ) 12. Three burnt out light bulbs. These are all things I noticed without trying to find anything. There was a gratuity envelope with the maids name on it. I could not believe that they had enough guts to leave this envelope with their names on it. The thing that really gets me is that they have two naids for that room and not one thing got done but the bed beign made. (not changed just made) I have to say if the room would have been clean it would be a great deal and a wonderful place to bring your family.
