AWFUL!!!
By FUSSY VIRGO, 6/3/10
Cramped quarters, shower didn't work properly, pillow was very lumpy, lights above mirror were so low I had to squat to see into the mirror (I'm 5' 7"). To top it off after arriving home I received my credit card statement dated the 22nd of May, we stayed at the Game Lodge on May 25th. Apparently when the reservations were made the Lodge automatically charged our account BEFORE our stay. The only thing positive was the great staff. Terribly OVERPRICED!!

Great place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/5/08
We stayed in the original lodge and would go back in a second. You can sit on the front porch and watch the wildlife yet all the big attractions are nearby. The food in the restaurant is fantastic. Be sure to take the wildlife jeep tour - it's worth every cent.

Amazing experience!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/26/07
This is a place that leaves our family with memories that will last a lifetime. :-) We've heard fantastic reviews about this lodge so we decided to give it a try - despite it being further away from the attractions and we've got to pay for license into the state park, before we could reach the lodge. We didn't have a good first impression cos the cabin looks run down and cramp from the outside. We were pleasantly surprised that the room inside was extremely clean and the furnitures were well maintained and well furnished. Excellent housekeeping. As we've been living in the city for our whole life, this lodge provides a good opportunity to get us in touch with the nature. As the lodge is in the state park, the air was crisp and clear. Buffaloes were seen grazing in our backyard in the morning. (Warning - do stay a distance from the buffaloes cos my husband was chased by one when he tried to get a closed up picture of it.) The jeep ride to see the buffaloes was certainly worth its value. The guide took us to off roads, which were not normally accessible by normal transport. Besides buffaloes, we also saw antelopes, prairie dogs, deers and many other wild life up close. The guide was extremely nice and provided our family with lots of fun and information. It was a fantastic experience!!!

buffalo in our front yard
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/10/06
Everything was great except they need to upgrade to at least queen beds. Double beds just don't cut it. Lodge food was good. We ate breakfast and dinner in the lodge. Staying in the park gave us an front row seat to watch the buffalo.

Wonderful Dining!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/4/04
The State Game Lodge is a great place to sit down with family or friends. The food is prepared so well and the wait staff is more than exceptional. Also, the ambiance is so nice in the evening. This is the place to eat when in the Black Hills/Custer State Park.
