Accomodated a large family in town for a funeral
Large family had a block of 9+ rooms 3 nights/4 days. Arrival day: Front Desk gentleman met us with politeness and ear to ear smiles. He welcomed and reassured us as we were waiting for rooms at 1:50pm, fatigued, anxious and hungry. We smelled food in Dining Hall. Came in 10 minutes before lunch was over. Paid, seated and staff still allowed group of 12 to eat together family style. Even brought in more food. Baked chicken was perfect. Melted in your mouth. Everyone Satisfied. Reasonably Priced. Delicious. Resumed check in at Front Desk. Most rooms were ready by then. Discovered a little water in lobby on carpet near sofa after eating. Room assignments not as close to each other as we would have liked. Some inside courtyard. Some outside parking lot. Front Desk gentleman allowed us to move closer when available and necessary. Exception, the second floor outer parking lot suite was only one of our two available. It had some plumbing issues. Some rooms were better than others. Minor. Missing microwaves or not enough power cords for both microwaves and refrigerators in use simultaneously. Some stopped up sinks. Some more family members (7) then moved from Ramada to Quality Inn after the funeral the next day. (Ramada was too noisy near truck stop and the pool was not available until Memorial Day). Once checked into Quality Inn, one of their 2 rooms was not cleaned upon check in. An oversight. Cleaned it themselves removing trash. Better during the next few days. Regardless, Front Desk tried to remedy any and all problems. Staff was compromising and polite through the entire stay. Housekeeping: Spanish staff eager to please even with language barriers. African American staff on point, helpful and extremely professional. Best family times experienced at the Pool. Dining Hall, Suites, and Bar (Kareokee). Kids enjoyed the pool while reuniting with family during their grand dads/ our father's funeral in nearby Camden, SC. Despite all, would come again.
