Location - NOT
By Upstate2011, 7/8/11
This is a 3 star hotel in a 1 star location. The hotel is only 50 feet from the railroad tracks to the west, 300 feet from a night club to the north, and 100 feet from a tatoo parlor to the east. We were awakened by a loud freight train at 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. while wearing earplugs. The parking lot is behind the hotel adjacent to the railroad tracks and the night club. Even with hotel security cameras filming, our car was damaged when someone tried to jimmy the passenger door. The car parked beside us had the window smashed in and the inside was turned up-side-down while they were looking for valuables. The drunks below us on the first floor were so loud they kept us awake from 2:30 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. until the police showed up. The hotel did refund 1/2 our $ for one night, but I'm still in the hole due to the car damage. The contential breakfast was good but I was left hungry. We will not stay at this hotel ever again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Overpriced dump
By Bigdog, 2/10/10
I have stayed at this place, do yourself a favor and stay away. The rooms are overpriced and very small. They say its non smoking, but they reek of smoke. The carpets are nasty and need replacing. Its also real close to 5points and you hear loud drunk college kids all night no matter when you go. Your car is not safe there either...vandals and thieves wait for you to leave your car unattended. Do yourself a favor and go to the Hilton and SAVE money and your car

One of quaintest Inns in the area! Very clean and comfortable, friendly staff and convenient to happening things in the city! I strongly recommend walking down to the fountain in the heart of 5 points and enjoying live music!! STAY HERE, GREAT PRICE and GREAT STAY!!

I would go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/19/09
The hotel is very clean and decorated nicely. Parking was easy. This is a good place to stay if you plan on spending most of your time out; however if you need your sleep, definitely dont stay in any of the rooms near the front desk. The rooms are not sound proof like other hotels. I was able to hear all conversations at the front desk and the beep that went off every time the front door was open. At 0645 am, I had to call the front desk and tell the employees to please not talk so loud. Also, upon checking in I was given a tag to hang on my door for delivery of a continental breakfast with instructions to hang outside door by 11pm. I never received that breakfast and my tag was still on the door when I checked out. This was disappointing because I woke up and got dressed in time for the breakfast to be delivered. Regarding the matresses, they are very hard. the hotel would benefit from using some of those thick matress pads like all other hotels. I would still go back because the convience out weighs the dislikes I would just be a little more picky about room location etc. and take some snacks.

Great Experience
By Ann MarieH, 9/17/06
It was very convenient to the USC campus. Lots to do within walking distance. The room had a lot of character and was an overall great experience. It was like staying in a friend's home.
