Overall view
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/09
The surroundings were beautiful and there was plenty to do. The pool was large and very spacious. We only had breakfast but it was very good and took at less half hour to get it, not busy in restuarant the day we went. The bugs were a big problem in and out of the room. The room were loaded with webs. I moved night stand and could not believe the junk behind it, (food, bobby pins, dead bugs and more webs). Bed was hard as a rock. I wouldn't stay there again.

cute and relaxing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/08
Very good value if you have AAA, we paid $149/night for a king, and that was last minute on a weekend in Aug. The place is not modern, but clean, and the grounds are very pretty with a huge pond for kayaking- which they provide for free. The pool is very nice, although there was a crazy mosquito situation when we were there- even with bugspray, they were swarming all over, back to nature? I found there to be nothing to do after sundown in the town, but I am from NYC, and possibly jaded. Close to Newport and Mystic, its funny though after being at the relaxing hotel, those touristy places seemed too much! I would recommend it for people looking for a peaceful vacation

Keep looking
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/06/08
My husband booked this as a surprise 30th anniversay trip as I have always wanted to see Newport and the surrounding area. The building smelled terribly musty, I could hardly breathe when we walked through. I would not recommend for anyone with any allergies . I moved the curtain in our room to adjust the airconditioner and the back of the curtain had black mold on it. The t.v. had lousy reception, you could not see the picture clearly on any channel even though it was hooked up to cable or satellite. I feel that we were ripped off on price as we paid $197 per night for just a room, not an efficiency as my husband thought we were getting. The web site is not clear on the price that you are actually going to pay. The room was definately not worth $197 per night. We could have stayed somewhere really nice for that price. The only thing going for it was that it was convenient getting around the area with little or no fuss.

Great staff, nice grounds, but 4 1/2 stars?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/08
The price was right (especially off-season) and it was great to have a kitchenette. The management was welcoming and courteous--good people. You can't beat the location and the pond, but the rooms themselves (at least ours, which was in the building detached from the main one) was not a four star room. If the Ritz is a five-star hotel, I don't see how the rooms here get a four and a half. It was clean, but cramped and nowhere near modern. That said, I would definitely stay again with pleasure!

AWESOME!!!
By LindaR, 07/16/07
My family visits Rhode Island every year and usually it is a hassle to find a nice and affordable place to stay. When we look for homes right on the beach they are usually not nice or unclean or have a water limit but last year my uncle stayed at The Willows Resort and loved it. The best part though was jumping in the pool after spending a long day at the beach it felt so great to refresh myself. At first i was scepticle until i checked out the location and the hotel rooms, it was AMAZING. First of all, we were so close to the beach that i could walk there plus you get clean rooms. For all you moms out there, is vacation really a vacation when you stay at a house and have to do the dishes and clean the house when you leave for the deposit I sure don't. Staying at the willows was great because of the maid service and the Game Room for the kids. I sure wish we stayed there last year but we will be leaving for Rhode Island in 5 days and i have already got my bags packed because guess where i am staying? You guessed it, THE WILLOWS RESORT!!! I hope you get a chance to visit and i hoped this review helped you to decide where to go this summer or the next. Bon Voyage, ILOVERHODEISLANDCHICK

It met our needs
By Joan, 08/07/06
It had a lovely, laidback atmosphere. We were there from Sunday to Sunday. We stayed in a one room apartment (really a cottage) with a view of the pond. We rowed a boat, went to the pool two times a day, and visited all the nearby towns. The seafood festival in August was awesome! It was good for adults and children alike (in our case 2 and 5). Dishwasher, washer and dryer, screened in porch. Great! Met people who stayed in efficiencies for a weekend and were stilll happy. I highly recommend it. Good value for the dollar.

We loved It!
By HOLLY, 05/30/06
My husband and I loved it very much and plan to go back again next summer. The weekend we went, it happened to be cloudy, so it was not much of a beach weekend, there were so many things for us to do that Canoeing, Boating, Tennis, Billards etc... and we took advantage of them all.

Clean, nice, not fancy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/22/05
This was a nice choice for our family of 6. We stayed in their cottage that slept 6 with 2 bedrooms. 2 sets of bunk beds in 1 room took care of our kids and 1 king in the other took care of mom & dad. The place was clean and service was good, but the accommodations are very basic. Nothing fancy at this place. Nice value for the money for us. The location is nice on Foster Cove of Ninigret Pond, and they provide boats to use. Do not swim in the cove. It is full of jellyfish that do sting. My mistake. They have a nice pool that is solar heated for swimming. Also, they provide tennis, shuffleboard, horseshoes, ping pong, billiards, a library, practice golf holes, boats, and plenty of open space. There is also an attached restaurant that I would not recommend. Food was marginal and service was awful. The location is great on Foster Cove with beautiful views, but you do need to drive to get to any shops or restaurants. We would stay there again if we had 6 people to lodge. Fewer than 6 and we would look elsewhere. I would actually give it 3 & 1/2 stars, somewhere between average and good.
