Autoport Hotel State College, State College

The rooms we were in were being renovated. new paint, carpet, tile, tub and toilets in the rooms. Future plans for the rest of the buildings to be done. Nice Pool and bar area. restaurant was very good. Great happy hours. People are real nice and want to please. no bedbugs as previously said don't listen to the other comments.

We have stayed at the Autoport several times, but this past weekend(3/20-22) we were told we had to book two nights, and when we checked out were shocked at the extreme jump in rates(new owners maybe, but not new rooms). I am not picky, but at $139 a night, I want the shower to be a little better than it was. I may be looking elsewhere, especially since Day's Inn rates were $109.65 a night

I used to come to Autoport a great deal. The drink I used to order went up 3.00 is the last month and there is less of it. The new owner tells us she wants us to come back but all I see is money in her eyes so to speak. I will not be coming back!!

first entered the establishment and there was no one at the front desk and no hostess to greet us. All we wanted was dinner. Eventually there was a very nice waitress that greeted us, seated us, and told us the specials. Meantime one of the new owners was walking through the dining room with a bottle of wine "which she obviously had to much of" cursing that no one was paying attention to her friends. My husband and I ordered the flank steak and the crab cakes. My husband reported the fland steak was very good but I could have bought the crabcakes at walmart. It was now time for dessert. While we were waiting the new owner lady was making her obnoxious rounds telling custers they should come back while giving a hint of superiority. NEWS FLASH!!!: Be real to your customers and give them more time than your friends unless they are the ones paying the bills!!! Your friends will come back but we won't.

The Autoport used to be a charming break from the chains. I visited there last month. The place is shabby and marginally clean. There used to be lots of flowers around the pool and outside the rooms. Now, there's none. The pool has a nice setting but the heater was off so swimming was not pleasant (until I found the control and turned the heat up - the next day was nice)

My friends & I stayed here recently & it seems the new owners are more interested in running a night-life scene than a hotel. Thur. pm the music out near the pool didn't stop until after 11 which was rude & disrespectful for guests that had to get up early Fri. am. Friday & Sat. evenings were worse! The old owner had a beautiful facade which welcomed guests with flowers, peaceful quiet & relaxation. Granted, the new owners inherited a large facility in dire need of renovation. But my friends & I will be surprised if these people are still in business next year. There are only 3 housekeepers for a large 4 building + cottages facility & they could use double that number. They still don't have a website up & it has been several months since they took over. Potential guests, look over what has been written here & on other sites before making your decision. And parking is a first come, first served basis. Forget the designated parking for hotel & cottage guests, people just turn the signs around and park wherever....... We definitely won't return & we took 4 rooms for 4 nights.

We stayed at the Autoport when were passing through on our way to vacation. The rooms were old and musty and smelly. The furniture, fixtures, and bathrooms are out dated and old and worn. The food was not that good either. I heard there were new owners - What are they doing?? I would rather stay at one of the chain hotels, there is definetely no nostalgia or charm left here anymore.

I used to be a regular at The Autoport while traveling on business, but since it is under new ownership the food is terrible and they are very understaffed. I ordered a hot sandwich that I had to wait a half hour to get and by the time the waitress brought it to my table, it was ice COLD!!! A drink that I used to pay $4.50 is now $7.50 and a lot less drink! Needless to say, I won't be going back.

They are renovating EVERYTHING! A nice, fun, contemporary young couple from the area bought the motel. They are renovating almost everything... It's so excited because they already did the dining room and are working on the bar now. The new dining room is extremely elegant and still the low prices. Not to mention the new menu... it's amazing.

The place was totally locked up when we arrived at 6:30 in the evening. We had to wait for a construction worker to call the owner to let us in, which was inconvenient after driving for 14 hours. No mention of a discount, etc. for our wait. Then upon arriving back at our room one evening our key cards weren't working and we had to walk the whole way around the complex to get new ones. They definately didn't go out of their way to accommodate us. The room itself was ok but the service stunk!
