Bed Bugs
We stayed here for the winefest, June 11 - 13, 2010. We checked in and headed to our room. Upon entering, there was a note that there was a water main break and that water service may be disrupted. So we tried the water and of course, they were dry. I understand these thigns are out of the control of the staff, but NOBODY told us as we were checking in, they simply let us find the note. Once the water was turned back on, only dirt and mud came out of the faucets for the next hour (this was around midnight). That same night, my wife and I were sitting on the couch, watching TV, and I discovered a bug crawling in her leg. I trapped it in an empty soda bottle and googled it. Sure enough, it was a bed bug. We took video and pics of it. Although they comped us for that night and moved us to a suite, our opinion of Split Rock was already ruined.
The rooms are very out dated, the TV reception is horrible, every channle has snow on it. VCR's, but no DVD player? Seriously? Dishwasher is from 1981, the jacuzzi tub is a regualr tub with an airline,,,,that's it. The food in the Galleria is horrible. The turkey platter came with stove top stuffing LOL!! My steak, whcih I asked for medium, was like shoe leather...OVERLY WELL DONE. The pool looks like dirty hot dog water, don't even try it. This resort caters to the ghetto's of New York, jersey, and Philly. You'll see what I mean.
Split Rock needs to step up their game, completely rehab the entire galleria-- it's 2010 people.
