Holiday Inn Warren, Warren

I heard about golf packages that are offered through this hotel. I am a member of a golf group who gets together 3-4 times a year to golf, we are a large group who travels by bus and finds it some what difficult to find a place to accommodate such a large group. I contacted the Sales director who was very courtesy, talked as if she had known me, not only did she make all of our tee times for us, send us directions to the golf courses, she had the rooms pre-assigned so that our check in was quick. The desk staff was very friendly, they had our room keys ready when we arrived, after a quick shower we went to the restaurant to find they had a wonderful italian buffet ready for us in a atrium area, some of the men chose to order steaks off the menu which took a little longer but was worth the wait. After dinner we went to the martini bar to finish off our night,it was a very classy lounge, drinks were somewhat high priced, but we were given a room for us to go and play cards we had brought beer and had a great night. We were a little disappointed that there was no entertainment as we heard that it was busy on weekends because it was the only club in the area. Maybe next time they will have entertainment as we are definately making this one of our spots for golfing the guys enjoyed themselves and are looking foward to returning. I suggest if you like to golf look into the packages they are a great price and include everything you will need for a weekend.

This place is run by people who act as if they've never performed any type of customer service before. We went down for the breakfast buffet--the food was "eh." And then we waited for the check. And waited. And waited. No one was even in the restaurant. Since we were checking out that morning to make a flight, we went ahead and decided to tell the front desk to bill us after we finished packing. Big mistake. The person behind the desk was completely confused by our request. He had to keep on going over to the restaurant to find out what to do. This went back and forth for close to 30 minutes! We were *finally* billed--$57!! For 3 breakfast buffets! This wasn't lobster, people. And then, once the desk guy finally billed us, he didn't even acknowledge that our business was done. He completely ignored us and started typing away on his computer. In addition, my mother tried to call ahead of time and add a day to her own reservation--she had to repeat her request five times to get someone to understand what she wanted. Whoever was on the other line was either new or just not very bright. Overall, a less-than-stellar experience. Rather funny when you consider the humorous ads that say that staying in a Holiday Inn will make you *smarter.*

I love the pool here for my kids to use. Love it's proximity to my family. Only problem I have ever had here is in summer the top floor gets very warm
