Cove Haven Resort, Lakeville

25 years ago my wife and I honeymooned at Cove Haven. We returned this year to celebrate our silver(25"th) wedding anniverary. It was fantastic! We booked the Cove Harbour suite and asked for and received the exact same room we had 25 years ago. The decor had been updated since our last stay and the starlights in the ceiling are a delightful feature. The carpet in our room was a little worn and showing some age but the features of this room are great; split level design with a sunken bedroom, fireplace, king size round bed, heart shaped tub, fridge and more. Upgrade the TV sets to flatscreens and the room would be perfect. I purchased a few upgrades(ultimate suite seduction and roses) to surprise my wife. The Cove Haven staff were awesome in providing the upgrades on time and scored tears of happiness from my wife. Dining at Cove Haven is a treat. All meals are all you can eat and the creations of the chefs do not disappoint. The Sunday evening grand buffet can satisfy any appetite and the weekday meals range from comfort food to gourmet dining. Breakfast is particularly good and you can even order breakfast in bed(a quickie) at no extra charge). The hostess, Judy, was especially welcoming and made us feel like family. There is lots to do at Cove Haven and you can do as much or as little as you like. There are 3 swimming pools(2 outdoor - 1 of which is heartshaped - and 1 indoor). The two hot tubs by the indoor pool provided us with much of our relaxation. Activities range from archery to roller skating, tennis to paddle boating. They even have opportunities to get close to wildlife with almost daily deer feedings. Nightly entertainment is tons of fun. Honest Phil keeps things rolling with his unique and disarming comedic style. We played a Newly-not -so-newlywed game and had a ball. Different contests are runalmost daily from ping pong tournaments to dance competions. Entertainment ranges from cover bands to magic shows. All entertainment was enjoyable and if you participate you have a blast!! 25 years was too long to wait to return to Cove Haven. Our next visit - and there will be a next vist - will be much sooner. Stayed at cove haven in the harbours. We went back because we spent our honeymoon there 31 years ago and needed a getaway. But to our disappointment from the place we remembered the room was not romantically decorated but felt like a new empty house without pictures or any romantic signs besides the round bed (which was very comfortable) and a bathroom with "nothing" but a tub vanity, toilet and shower. No other decor.... THe room was musty and was not very clean!!!! Even went for a couples massage and was disappointed. Very disappointing and have no plans of going back.

Loved the room and location of the room, stayed in the Cove Harbour, fireplace was great, heart-shaped tub was luvely. We were a little uncomfortable in the round bed but loved the stars on the ceiling. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Horseback riding was great although the guys who worked there creeped me out a little bit. Snowmobiling was a lot of fun. I did not like snow tubing. We loved the breakfast in bed. The food at dinner was delicious and we left stuffed every night. We sat with about 4 other couples that were a lot of fun. The resort is very nice and romantic and it was a great get away for us and I would definitely go back again.

My husband & I are world travelers & professionals (doctor & nurse). We have never been to such a wonderful place as this. WOW! Everytime we stay here we fall in love all over again! It's such an awesome atmosphere in any season! Here are just some of the features of this resort: A lot of rooms have swimming pools right in them & almost all have heart-shaped Jacuzzis-for-two, saunas, refrigerators & fireplaces! If you have AAA membership you can get a 20% discount! If you're a Starwood Resorts member you can 50% off for just 1000 starpoints. This resort & the other Caesars Pocono Resorts are owned by Sheraton. If your workplace is a member of the Getaway Club you can also get 50% off that way, too. It's a couples-only resort & all-inclusive so you pay one price & everything’s included: tax, gratuity, all-you-can-eat dinners, social directed group activities, nightly entertainment (usually a band & dancing or a comedian), breakfast-in-bed, hors d’oeuvres, late night snacks, theme nights (Welcome, Romance, Mardi Gras, Tropical Beach, Roman night), plus a later all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast in the dining room if you like. Some of the on-site free activities included are: tanning beds, water-skiing, speedboat rides, paddle boats, rowboats, sailboats, fishing, 9 hole regulation golf course, golf driving range, miniature golf, tennis (indoor & outdoor), racquetball, swimming pools (indoor & outdoor), fitness equipment, hot tubs, basketball, volleyball, walleyball, bicycles-built-for-2 or 1, archery, billiards or pool, bocce ball, ping pong, roller skating, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice skating (indoor & outdoor), tobogganing, snow tubing, wireless internet access, 24 hour coffee, tea & hot chocolate. For a fee there is also: an arcade, horseback riding, skiing, room service, massage therapy, horse-drawn carriage rides, etc. There’s lots to do so you won’t get bored. The rooms are so unique with swimming pools, Jacuzzis, fireplaces & saunas that some people just stay in the rooms. It's such a romantic place to enjoy with your special someone that I can't recommend it enough. Go often with the one you love. You won't be sorry!

This place is great for a weekend get-away. It's a wonderful place to go and just relax with your husband/wife. The breakfast is pretty much always the same. But I do love that they bring it to your room each morning. No lunch included but I just make sure I have enough breakfast. Plus, you have a small fridge and you can bring a few snacks. Dinner is always delicious. The activities are fun and Honest Phil makes them even better. The nightly entertainment is ok, I think they should work on the music though. The staff is great and are willing to make your stay pleasureable. The rooms are beautiful and very romantic.

We had a great time. The heartshaped jacuzzi is much bigger than it looks in the brochure. My husband is 6'8" tall and he and i were both very comfortable in it together. The breakfast buffet had excellent food. Dinner was also great. The only thing i didn't like about dinner and breakfast was when we were seated with other couples we didn't know. That was an easy fix. We just asked the hostess to seat us by ourselves.

We stayed in the Garden of Eden Apple Room, which had a pool. It was quiet, nice, and relaxing! We even used the indoor fireplace (bring your own logs!). We played indoor tennis and other games. It was a great time and a wonderful way to reconnect without kids around. AAA 3 diamond about sums it up, but where else can you get your own pool! Lots of fun!

Didn't care for anything.... we saved up for years for our honeymoon,,,and looked so forward to our first night together, ,, well, it was horrible! We should have just pitched a tent out in the parking lot! Would have gotten better service, better view and quicker way out!

The reason why I wouldn't recommend it to my friends, is because it's a bit cheesy & blue collar. From the moment you enter the local there are valentines everywhere. The registration center is decorated in valentine red. Instead of a hotel (which is what I expected for a 5 star hotel), I found myself with a motel. The heart shaped jacuzzi is valentine red, more shallow than a regular bathtub, and only has jets near your legs. While the room sauna's are nice, the room pool is too small -- they should have saved the money on the sauna, heart-shaped jacuzzi & pool and installed a regular round jacuzzi. The last piece of negative I have is that the comedy was very sexual and a bit over the top for me. Honest Phil curses with every sentence he uses and the blue collar hicks eat it up. All the negative aside, the reason why we will probably come back (at least 1 or 2 times) is because there really was a lot to do, the food was good (not excellent -- but good enough), and the rooms were nice & the beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept on -- even better than the ones they sell at the Sheraton. We hiked, biked, played tennis, hung out in the hotel jacuzzi (which was very nice), did some archery, and when to all of the shows they had to offer. The musicians, singers, & comedians were very talented (but, again, I wish they did not focus on sex all of the time). We'd like to go back in the winter and try out the snow mobiling & tubing and go back in the summer and try out the boating, water skiing, & fishing. One last point, my rating was based on the following: we own a timeshare in Maui that is supposed to be rated a 4 star. We stayed at Cove Haven which was supposed to be rated a 5 star -- not a chance! Our time share is gorgeous. The only thing I could think of how they managed to rate it higher than a 3 star is because it is all inclusive (activities & food). The only thing you have to pay for is alcohol, wood, and lunch.

Cove Haven has the perfect location for a quick getaway from the kids.the staff is fun loving and always energetic.Phil is funny and makes all activities worth while.We always play bingo,xxx horse racing and of course the not so newlywed game (which is hysterical).We always go Halloween weekend and love the costume party.Last year we came in 2nd place and won 2 great prizes from the gift shop.U might think the price is high but, tax, gratuity and all activities are incl in that price.To us its a cheap getaway to reconnect with each other,plus stay more than 3 times and you get the bonus and discount of being a forever lover.Well worth the $.TRY IT!!!
