Warning: Stay at Your Own Risk - Terrible!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/3/11
Last weekend I was overcharged for my stay at this Quality Inn, despite the fact that I had personally worked out the rate with the manager, Ankur Shah. When I inquired about the overcharge, the manager personally responded he would have refunded the overcharge if my email inquiry was more "polite", but refused to do so because of my "tone". Now I am forced to contact my credit card company and Choice Hotels Corporate to try to deal with this "bait and switch" billing, what a headache!

I would stay here again...
By CocoaNurse, 8/26/08
I paid $107 for a room with two queen beds. The room was clean, the linen were fresh. The a/c did have a slight mildew smell when I first turned it on. The wi-fi had a very weak signal, so I was unable to connect to the internet. The kids loved the outdoor pool which is heated to 85 degrees. The breakfast leaves much to be desired. They give you a card for the exact number of people in your party and you are seated in a area that appears to be a restaurant. It was all high carb and high fat foods, (sausage, french toast sticks, powdered scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, homefries, biscuits, sausage gravy, canned fruit cocktail, cereal). The best thing was the french toast and the hashbrowns. The orange juice is definitely from concentrate. Our family visited Waldameer Park/Presque Isle State Park, which was approximately about 15 minutes away. The hotel was very close to the highway which was also very convenient. I would totally stay there again!

Not what it used to be
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/08
If you are looking for a decent hotel for a good price, look no further. In an area where hotels go for $200 per night, this is a great alternative for 1/2 the price. People often complain about the hotel because the outside is not the nicest, but the rooms are newly remodeled and very comfortable. Many of the complaints are from 2007 or earlier, the remodeled rooms were finished in early 2008. There are still some kinks that need to be worked out, but overall, this hotel is not as bad as people like to pretend.

Needs Help
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/06
I stayed with a group from Toronto last weekend, The room was very dirty, not vaccumed, foot prints in the shower, No extra pillows when called the front desk, they said they only had one extra and it was gone.... The staff in the dining room needs a course in courtesy, and manners, very lax, the buffet was cold both days, No fruit at all, might want to add that one to the menu. Overall stay was horrible, would not reccomend this hotel to anyone, The hotel staff was to take all our bags to the bus, that did not happen, The vending machines the food was stale, and the pop cans were dusty, might want to check on that too... For a Best Western Hotel I am very dissapointed, I have stayed in many hotels over the years, but this was the worst, also dead bugs splattered on the windows, overall cleanliness of the room was terrible. I would strongly suggest a better cleaning crew.

About what you'd expect...
By Ray, 9/5/06
This hotel is about what you would expect from a 2 star hotel. I'm used to staying in very nice hotels when I travel for business, so it was easy to spot the difference. Location is OK, it's less than 10 minutes from mega shopping and not much farther to the park. Cleanliness was good. I didn't notice any issues that other people have written about. Service was about what you would expect from a 2 star hotel. One thing struck me as odd, perhaps because I'm used to staying at upscale motels while business travelling. Upon arrival, we noticed we only had three towels, which isn't enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. I called the front desk to request towels and they made me walk down and get them. This may be normal for hotels of this nature, I'm not sure, but the places I usually stay would have brought them to me. The staff seemed kind of unprofessional looking too, no uniforms and the desk clerk was sleeping standing up when I walked in to check in. I think I startled him and he didn't even say hello or anything. The hot breakfast is average. They had the buffet all 3 days we stayed and it didn't change at all. Biscuits, sausage gravy, eggs (or eggs w/ham), unseasoned potatoes & sausage patties. They also had containers of cereal and toast, but only one toaster for everybody to use which made the wait kind of long. We didn't even use our free breakfast coupon the 3rd day, we wanted something different. We experienced no issues with noise from the saloon. The thin wall statements are accurate though. All in all, probably about what you'd expect from a 2 star rated hotel. No complaints, but certainly not an abundance of compliments either.

3 Words - WHAT A DUMP!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/15/05
Where do I begin? Staff was friendly enough but a little on the slimy side... look out for Joe Cool with the shirt unbuttoned down to there and the heavy gold chain around his neck. The hallways stank, the room was dirty, the hair dryer had been ripped off the wall and was not replaced, the beds had obviously seen their day and the walls are paper thin. We had to move rooms during our stay due to the screaming family next door only to end up next to a room full of college kids who wanted to party all night. All businesses within a mile had closed up shop long ago so it is deserted and isolated. The pool was crumbling around the edges and I was almost afraid to let my kids swim in it. The ONLY redeeming quality of this motel was the breakfast and the coffee, which were both very good but not worth the money, however good a bargain you think you're getting. My advice - STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

Won't Stay here again
The room was clean. The smell of cigarettes in the hall is lung cancer waiting to happen. The area around the hotel is all boarded up. Presque Isle State Park is nice. There are nicer cheaper hotels closer to the park than this one. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Smokin'
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/23/05
This hotel was nothing spectacular but did serve its purpose. The cigarette smoke hit us like a wall upon entering the lobby for check-in. The desk clerk was friendly, but all of the hallways smelled like smoke. After we got into our non-smoking room, we laid a rolled towel at the bottom of the door to keep the smoke from entering the room. The room was mediocre in cleanliness -- it seemed somewhat run-down. When my friend was taking off her shoe, she noticed a cigarette lodged in the tread of the sole. She then stuck her foot out the window (we were on first floor) while I scraped the offender off. There was a country band that played in the basement under the lobby. It seemed very loud and smoky down there (we did not go in). Luckily we could not hear the band from our room. Breakfast was complimentary. There were home fries (potatoes), eggs, sausage, cereal, milk, and juice. It was pretty good but did not offer much variety. Outside, there were beer bottles and cans in the bushes and on the lawn. Although the price was somewhat reasonable, we choose not to stay here again.

good value
By rD, 4/28/05
Good value, clean rooms, wonderful breakfast. We reserved for five persons, were only given beds for four and had to deal with a rude and uncooperative check-in clerk. we rented a second room finally, in frustration, but the manager was very conciliatory the following morning and cancelled the second room fee.
