Holiday Inn Express Tigard, Lake Oswego

I am usually a huge fan of Holiday Inn Express hotels, but this room smelled like a stale stinky basement ( I guess that's what I get for requesting a room closed to the pool) and ever 20 seconds through the night the fire alarm flashed a green light (red too but it didn't bother me as bad), lighting up the whole room! So crazy annoying. When we checked out the next morning my husband made sure that the lady understood that we were not in any means satisfied with our night stay. She apoligized and promised to send a maintenance guy to check it out, but like that helped make my stay any better. So much for trying to make your customers happy, I'm still pissed at Holiday Inn express. And because my horrible night's sleep left me so cranky, I'd also like to complain about the breakfast. The food itself really was good but the guy that was supposed to be taking care of the area took forever to bring out fresh food! There were no forks out for almost 20 minutes...kinda hard to eat without any. I hope that someone with Holiday Inn Express takes the time to make this right with me.

This place got a makeover. The carpets, tile, furniture, wallpaper and furnishings are new. We got a suite and the two rooms together would be great for a family stay. Flat panel TV, refrigerator, microwave and unsecured wireless internet gives us more than the conveniences of home. Not only is there a desk to work from, we've got a small table with chairs for meals. We washed our socks etc. in the downstairs laundry. There's a gas station and convenience store about fifty yards away. twenty five yards east of it is a Burgerville. South of Burgerville is a grill, bar and off-track-betting location. I'm no gambler, but there is an OTB place nearby, for the interested. We wish we had more time in the area, but we're out tomorrow after one night. We'd have been glad to spend more time and use this place as a place for exploring Portland and the Columbia River Gorge.

This hotel is a great place to stay!! My family and I have stayed there the last three years and will retun in June. Even last year when they were remodeling it was still clean and pleasant, and as always affordable.

The room was clean. When I went downstairs to use the pool (the elevator was broken) the pool was filthy. When I opened the men's room door next to the pool there was feces spread across the floor and toilet. The "continental breakfast" consisted of stale donuts and a few pieces of fruit. No cereal, no milk, no juice, no tea. I wrote an official complaint and received a letter from Mr. Doug Franco, telling me the place has been purchased and will be remodeled in mid-2006. Until then, don't go near this place!!!
