Guests are NOT a priority here!
I noticed that, despite a fairly decent recent renovation, the owners of this place have OBVIOUSLY been cutting corners to save money... For instance, the coffees in my room were of two different brands, one of which was old and stained; there was a hole cut out of the vanity in the bathroom that was intended to store a box of tissues, but it was empty; the coffee cups in the breakfast area were the tiniest cheapest styrofoam cups I had ever seen, etc... This made me think: if they are willing to cut corners in such a blatent way, what are they doing behind the scenes to save money? Hopefully, they aren't saving money by scrimping on cleaning products, or laundering techniques - I did overhear housekeepers saying they didn't have enough clean sheets ready to finish their rooms...
Above all, I found the front desk staff to be incredibly rude. When we arrived, there were several people in line being ignored while the clerk talked on the phone. Granted, it was a business call, but she should have (at the very least) acknowledged the folks that were standing in line, even if just to look at them! When she finally got off the phone, she didn't even offer an "I'm sorry to keep you waiting" to those standing in line. I encountered the same service at check out, where I stood at the desk while being ignored by TWO people, one of which I presumed to be a manager or owner, as he was busily reviewing financial documents (yes, he was close enough to me that I could read them, yet he didn't bother to even look up until I spoke!). And, my asking a question was an obvious inconvenience to him, and I received a rude answer.
The breakfast (which admittedly had a lot of options!) was served in the same room as the indoor pool, which could use a better ventilation system - not only was there a weird "wet dog" smell, but even the sugar packets were damp!
I don't generally write reviews for things online, but I was so turned off by this hotel that I had to tell others.
Hopefully someday the owners will realize that instead of cutting corners to save a few pennies, they should learn the true meaning of hospitality, and maybe they can make some more money by having customers that actually want to come back!
