The McKinley Grand Hotel, Canton

It took 3 trips to the front desk to get our keys to work, the work out room was a mess and they only had one treadmill and it was broken, the pool was filthy, ours mattress cover had stains on it and we had to wait for an hour to get our bedding changed, the carpets were filthy, the book they have in the room that tells you about the hotel was covered in stains, the day we left only one elevator was working - the only thing that went smoothly was the parking in the garage across the street!

The hotel does not have parking, but city parking across. Dishonest staff suggested parking pass with hotel $8 per weekend, but failed to mention that the city does not charge for parking during the weekend. We went to complaint and the rep can't do anything and no manager until the next day.

This hotel was very nice, service was great, rates were reasonable. Only thing that we disliked about the place was the VERY rude bartender. This guy was a real jerk. Everyone we talked to had the same complaint. They need to dump this clown ASAP !!!

THis hotel is really pretty! THe old world style and decorations of the main floor are gorgeous. The rooms are clean and spacious. They have a very nice indoor pool with jacuzzi and a fitness center. My husband loved the car museum in the lower level-free admission-food was great and the bar is very relaxing and the servers were very friendly

this will be our first time it is our third anniveray and we can not wait to get there sept 23 could you give a little more for a specail day like rose patels and a free dinner

Overall I had a lovely time at the Canton Marriott. We were able to go to the pool with nobody else around, the staff was courteous and we were never disturbed. We ordered dessert from room service, it was delivered promptly and it was very good. My main concerns were that we were on the 7th floor, and the curtains did not close. The only thing covering our window was 3 ft of decorative drape and sheer lace. There was no track for the drapes to roll on, so they did not close. Being on the 7th floor nobody would see in anyways, but you never know. So in the morning it was very bright which made it hard to sleep, being the only thing covering the window was lace. Privacy was a concern. Also, I noticed one of my pillows had a dark spot on it, I pulled back the pillowcase and there was about a 1.5 inch round blood spot. I wanted to say something but we were relaxing and I didn't want to be bothered with it..we just didn't use the pillow. My concern is that there's no way you could have put the pillowcase on there and not see it. The cleaning staff had to know. Plus it was face down on the bed so obviously somebody was covering it up hoping nobody would notice. I've emailed the hotel about my concerns and haven't received a response after a week.
