I walked in and found that the toilet was never flushed completely from the last occupant. (So was there really maid service before I was given the room??? - there was no missing that it was not flushed.) Toilet would not flush for me in the morning also. Room really smelled - it had an overpowering plastic smell that I think probably came from the new looking shower curtain. Turned the heater on in the evening and about 5 minutes later the smoke alarm went off because something was burning in the heater. (So now I was dealing with the plastic and a burning smell). All they could offer me was a smoking room so opted to stay in the room with the heater unit unplugged. Told the front desk in the morning of the problems - they said they would look into it but they seemed unconcerned with my unhappy stay.
