Disappointed; Doesn't live up to the hipe.
I actually read the reviews before booking my room at the Embassy Suites in Columbus, OH. There are so many positive reviews that I thought I couldn't go wrong, but I was wrong. CONS: Embassy is a hotel chain and this particular hotel has many problems. The beds are not comfortable. I woke up 6 times. The windows were fixed, so previous odors (housecleaning fluids, fumes from new carpet, air fresheners, etc.) in the room couldn't be vented. The express noise was too loud. The windows need to be doubled-up or replaced. I waited a long time for service in the restaraunt. The appetizer in the evening was made from a can or jar. The bathroom sink is elevated to a height for very tall people. Cost was $125 per night plus tax. Breakfast line at 8:30 am was long, so I waited. The breakfast options are too few. Tthe hotel staff really didn't like working at the hotel; no one was smiling. PROS: The hotel looks nice. Parking is nearby. I have to wonder who wrote the positive reviews to this hotel. It doesn't make sense. I do not recommend this hotel.
