Super 8 Bismarck, Bismarck

Our first stay at Super 8 was nice. The second stay even better. And the third stay was the best. Super 8 is not a fancy,luxurious hotel that others may offer but it is just right when needing only a bed to rest your head on for a nights stay. The rest of the time you can spend enjoying the people and places in Bismarck. The maid service was very kind. And when needing to make reservations or cancelations at the very last minute, the staff could never be beat. What I did not like about Super 8 : I believe since it is not a fancy and luxurious hotel like the others that the price should be slightly less. The price that is being charged now is no different than one of those fancy, luxurious ones.

Likes: a) the cost, b) the brand newness of the small quarters, c) the proximity of many travel destinations such as the Bismarck state Capitol, the museum, the zoo, the BSC Aquatic and Wellness Center, a ton of shopping and food places, and existing right off the interstate. Dislikes: a) smaller than it looks on the screen, b) not very good at all taking and relaying messages to other guests, c) an errieness of the place.

We stayed at this motel in 2008 and were very pleased with the accommodations and free breakfast. In August 2010 we stayed again and were disappointed. The breakfast has been reduced to donuts and cereal, no waffles or fruit available. The fridge in the room did not work. There were not enough outlets in the wall to plug in the TV and microwave at the same time.The light over the table stopped working after the second day. We stayed for 3 days, the room was not cleaned at all one day and was only half cleaned the second day. A complaint to the front desk did not get any action.
