besides the maid not speaking any English except for "hello" and not one person smiled or acted like they like their job at the service desk,
no one would accommodate me just to pop some popcorn. I'm standing four feet from a microwave staring me in the face at Cafe Expresso and the man refused to help even after I offered to pay for it. He just kept shaking his head no. So, I approached the desk clerk with the same request. "We do not have any microwaves". I figured these people have got to have a break room with a microwave in it, right? I told him I had researched the amenities online prior to my trip and one of them was microwaves as well as refrigerators. Since it was posted as amenities, I assumed every room had them. He dryly said "mam, we can put a refrigerator in your room for $35.00". That's all he said. No smile. No apology. Nadda. I didn't want a refrigerator. I wanted a microwave! He was no help at all. After traveling extensively with our business, and staying in numerous hotels, (this trip being a six day stay) I've come to the conclusion that the lower priced hotels care more about your creature comforts without trying to place a price tag on it. Complementary coffee in the lobby? Two cups of coffee-$4.00.
