Take a Pass on This One
We recently moved to Jacskonville and were looking for a place to stay. We stayed at the Quality Inn for one weekend before looking elsewhere. First, the positives: The pool was larger than other hotel pools in the area and was not at all crowded. The staff at the front desk were pleasant and healpful. The lobby was fairly nice.
The negatives: The hotel was located in a seedier area and could, at times, be difficult to get in to due to traffic. The room was overpriced for the quality of room. We had a two room suite, which was basically two motel rooms with an open archway between them. The living room had a sofa bed that was supremely uncomfortable with no support- my son ended up sleeping in a pit in the middle of the mattress. If he'd have been any heavier than the 95 pounds he weighs, he probably would have been on the floor. The other room had two double beds that were okay. The bathroom was small, but mostly clean. There was black mold along the baseboards behind the toilet and under the sink. The whole hotel had an aura of dinginess and an indistinguishable unpleasant smell. In addition, the hotel had a bar attached to it, which made parking interesting. The morning after we checked in, I was disturbed to find that someone (probably one of the bar's patrons) vomited all down the driver's side of my car.
Overall, I don't intend on staying at this hotel again.
