Sad
By Debbie, 11/23/09
I was slightly disappointed in this Holiday Inn. It's located on HWY 19 right outside of Cherokee. We asked for a room near the office and got one towards the back. (If you smoke... you get put in the rear apparently.) There are two separate buildings to this hotel. Neither are connected to the office/restaurant building. (See photos) We were in the first building. Rooms on both sides, but parking only on one side. There was no fridge or microwave. It was "ladybug season" and we did usher a few out of the room. (There was a sign at the front desk warning of this.) The heat was difficult to adjust... it was either too hot or too cool. The beds were pretty comfortable. Nice big towels, but the bathroom was small. They ran out of coffee for the rooms, but we were told there would be coffee in the dining room until nine pm. Since we were towards the rear and it was cold, that wasn't really convenient. Breakfast buffet was included and it was pretty good. There was a nice variety of breakfast items. Dining staff very nice. We aren't very picky travelers. We look for a clean, decent room with a few amenities. This hotel was ok,, but nothing to brag about. I find it hard to understand running out of coffee for the rooms. The layout of this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. It was ok and I won't say I'd NEVER stay here again, but would look elsewhere first. There are too many other choices out there.

How you will be treated if you are of color
By Angel, 05/20/09
i like nothing about the hotel because when I was there April 22nd on a business trip, I was called N@##$^ by the staff and it was reported. They acted like it was nothing. I called head office nothing. I called customer relations and they decided to pay me my money back it would make things okay. Well no. Nobody want to talk me about the matter. When they do they get very upset about it. So Please, if you are of color do go there because you will be call N&^%$#.

Dissapointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/08
Room was average, beds very small, booked the room for 2 adults & 3 kids. When we arrived after a day at the river there where only 2 towels in the room. We where given the room next to housekeeping eventhough the hotel was not full, next morning it felt like there was a chicken fight in the next room. Housekeeping ladies where very loud, could not sleep. Upon check out I complained about the noise but the front desk did not seemed very concerned about the complaint. Would not stay there again.

New part very attractive, but disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/07
Paid full price but was given older room. Room was unsatisfactory, paper peeling on walls, electric sockets dirty, spider in room, towel bars bent, did not have "Simply Smart" linens associated with Holiday Inn. Food at the restaurant was good but there was no continential breakfast offered. A coupon towards breakfast in the restaurant would have been nice. Registration desk, waiters, and staff were fine.

We wished we hadn't booked it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/07
The carpet was stained. There was no micro wave or fridge, which they say you could get, but they never offered that service. The shuttle offered from the hotel to the casino mentioned on their site, failed to mention a fee. Nor did they mention they took pets. We already know we are going to stay at the Comfort Inn across the street next time. At checkout, clerk was moving others to other rooms who had complained.

Ok hotel. Not the cleanest room.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/05/07
The staff at front desk and the restaurant were all very nice. The food at the restaurant was not the greatest. My husband ordered prime rib, which came out cold. The room was ok except the carpet was dirty and the tub did not look clean. We were in the smaller building near the pool. The hot tub did not have jets.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay last week. Thank you!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/06
I loved having three pillows on each bed. And the blanket between sheets is very nice. The attendants at check-in were so cordial. They were very helpful. There had been a slight mix-up with our reservations, and they handled it in the most gracious way. Thank you,

Always A Favorite
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/05/06
The people, the rooms, the price. We stay there anytime we're in Cherokee. We visit the restaurant anytime we're near. The breakfast and lunch buffets are great.

A bit disappointing
By Anna, 10/15/05
We just stayed here and, because it was October, I paid extra for a hotel with an indoor "heated" pool. We found the pool to be VERY chilly and not comfortable enough to enjoy. The maid service wasn't the best in the world. They didn't empty the in-room coffee-pot and missed some of the trash. The restaurant at the hotel offered an excellent breakfast buffet and the two kids I had with me ate free for all meals + with your room key, you get an additional 10% off each meal - good deal.

By Meagan, 05/17/05
This was a really nice hotel.I loved the staff. The resteraunt was alittle bit on the yuck side but I still give the hotel a thumbs up.It has a pool, and also a playground beside the pool.If you ever want to rent cabins, there are cabin rentals right beside the hotel on the mountanside.
