A place we would definitely consider for our next trip!
By Brandy, 10/18/07
This hotel was in a great location and within walking distance to a ton of key tourist areas! The staff was absolutely fabulous! Willing to help us with directions, suggestions, even took our picture before we headed out to a broadway show! The housekeeping staff were always polite and willing to help you with anything they could and always had a smile on their faces. We had a suite, and it was very comfortable and very homey feeling. The only cons for this hotel at this time was the fact that they were undergoing some renovations, so there was only one main elevator that was working, besides the service elevator, and when you are on the upper floors of the 16, it's not so easy to just take the stairs. The breakfast is served on the Mezzanine level and there were long wait times for the next available table. And at some times we even shared with other hotel guests, which we actually didn't mind. They were also having record breaking heat for October in NYC that week, and the hotel's lobby and main hallways AC was broken or not working at full capacity for a few days, and that doesn't help when your already extremely hot from walking all day. The air conditioning in the rooms worked fine. Overall, we would definitely give this hotel another try, and hopefully the renovating will be complete by then!

unreal
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/30/07
It seems the hotel was concerned that a boycott due to the planned naked chocolate Jesus sculpture would occur and cancelled the showing. This shows lack of integrity for caving in on one hand and lack of judgement for insulting Christians on the other. I think I'll find another hotel. If the reports are apocryphal....I apologize and hope you disregard this missive.

Rather be Homeless
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/30/07
Horrible service and a snobbish attitude. People should realise that others from different part of this country have a different attitude and way of communicating with others.

Smells of death
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/30/07
Our room had a dead rat in the corner and smelled like death. I will never stay there again. My wife became ill and we cut our trip short.

Like lice?
By Jeremy F, 3/30/07
I did not like the lice I acquired during my stay there last year. I entered clean -- I left 2 days later revolted and revolting. Complaints went unheeded.

Great value, great experience!
By Trevor, 6/6/05
From the moment you walk in the door, the staff are attentive & from an Aussie perspective, it felt like home. The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast fantastic & would definitely make this my NY hotel for other stays.

Would probably not return
By KimB, 5/11/05
Room was too dark, not enough lighting. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Free wireless internet was a plus and bedding was very comfortable. Location is great and free continental breakfast was also a plus.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/16/05
Got one of their large suite. Has living room, small bedroom and large bedroom with king bed. Would be great for a family or extended business stay. Has a kitchenette too. Some nice perqs inc. free loaner movies at the front desk and bookshelf full of books in the living room.
